So enjoyable but.....

A truly satisfying rendering of P&P ruined by a snarky, irritating, nail biting narration. Couldn't finish listening.

Bad Narration

The narrator reads every character as if they are a condescending, insincere villain. It’s aggravating and distracting. Elizabeth sounds how you’d expect Caroline Bingley to sound and she makes Darcy sound as if every sentence he speaks is done with sexual innuendo. It’s horrible.

Couldn't put this one down; love the long epilogue

I love variations where Darcy shows how much he loves Elizabeth and works hard to win her love.
In this story, we get to see Darcy slowly fall in love with Elizabeth while she is staying in his home. I love that Darcy has some competition from other suitors. I love that we get to listen to so much of E&D together with Darcy hoping for Elizabeth to love him. I agree that the narrator was not the best, but not terrible. She does the female voices just fine.
I love a long epilogue. This one did not disappoint. I will definitely read it again.

Great story, annoying narration

I liked the story. Funny at times. The narration was annoying and mixed up with some of the characters. I had read some complaints about the narrator, but when I sampled it, she sounded okay. It was when she played certain characters I wanted to fast forward. Reading would have been better.

Outstanding Narrator

Great story by a favourite author, Elizabeth Adams, comes to life with Brigid Lohrey’s brilliant performance of the various characters in this book. I could not stop listening until I finished. Highly recommend.

Enjoyable story

This was a great bit of Austenesque pastiche. Easy to recommend. Elizabeth Adam is a talented writer.

Maidens and Matrons

The story was very sweet, if much more long winded than necessary. I understand that the author wanted to recreate the series of misunderstandings that were the original, but every thing seemed drawn out. That being said there were some great scenes. I loved Lizzy's worries over being rude.
My major gripe is the voices of the "matrons." Mrs Bennett, lady Catherine, and Lady Matlock. they are way too nasal and read way to fast.
Am I glad I bought this? Yes

Love a good P&P story

Highly recommend this to anyone looking for some fanfiction. The narrator is good and the story line is well thought out.

An enjoyable variation

What about Brigid Lohrey’s performance did you like?

I liked her voice and narration, except some exaggeration in Lord and Lady Matlock's speech.

Any additional comments?

I loved the premise of this book, Georgiana and Lady Matlock's friendship with Elizabeth. Lady Matlock's attachment to Lizzy seemed unusual, but it had a satisfying explanation. Darcy was dragging his feet for quite a long time, but they got their HEA. There were a few good turns and twists, and characters were well written.
