About this listen

On March 11, 2011, the Japanese fishing trawler Hoshi Maru accidentally hauled up something deadly into its live-fish hold. The crew, having discovered their mistake, raced toward the harbor in the hope that they might survive. They never made it.

Presumed sunk by the tsunami that ravaged the coastline of Japan, its crew were declared dead.

Seven years later, the shipwreck washed up on Cannon Beach, Oregon. By the time the US Department of Fish and Wildlife arrived to investigate, people in the nearby towns had started to die in terrifying and inexplicable ways.

Sam Reilly will need to discover what really happened on board the Hoshi Maru – and why all clues point to the Legend of King Arthur....

Excellent adventure!

action-adventure, thriller, suspense, paramilitaries

Excellent adventure full of twists and suspense! Held my attention from beginning to end, even though this is the first I've read in the series. The publisher's blurb is pretty limited, but I don't do spoilers either. I only know that I really got into it!
David Gilmore is great at interpreting the story in narration.

Great history woven in

This is the first book of this series I’ve read. Got a free copy to leave an honest review. Good characters, great history, good action. The history was fairly well integrated into the story line. At times it felt like the book was dragging, maybe a bit too long. Great voice talent.

Excellent experience

The Hunt for Excalibur: Sam Reilly, Book 16.
Thrilling and gripping from page 1 (as always), I love the technical details that the author includes. As always it's fast paced and Sam's humour shines thru. 16 books in the series so far and each one is fresh and exciting. So many series go stale NOT this one.
Each book is a fresh story line, so reading out of order would not be a problem.
David Gilmore's narration is excellent and accents and voices so believable.
Excellent entertainment, Just waiting for book 17 now

Another fun adventure

Cartwright is absolutely wonderful at alternative history. Seamlessly combing fact and fiction. If you’re not careful you’ll be convinced everything you thought you knew is wrong.

The narrator as always is flawless in his delivery.

The only thing I’ll say is a 12ga is a shotgun not a rifle😜

I was given this book free at my request for an unbiased review.

Thanks for the opportunity to listen to this book.

Another Great Sam Reilly Tale!

This story is wonderful. I love how Christopher Cartwright combines truth, myth and imagination into a compelling and highly entertaining story. I can't say enough how much I love this story. Each book can be read in whatever order you want but I've listened from beginning to this one and have yet to be disappointed in any of them. I can't recommend this series enough. This tale takes on Excalibur and not in a way you think. I love how the Sam Reilly books are refreshingly original and excellently written. The narration is superbly done by David Gilmore. He has spoiled me for this series. I love how he gives each character their own voices and emotions but he doesn't go overboard. Wonderful series, awesome narrator equals highly entertaining storytime!

Mythology mixed with Scifi

I have read many adaptation of mythology but this is the first time that it has been done this way. I loved it because it is different. I have to admit that I am not a fan of king Arthur and his knights but this book is not what you expect. I don't want to say to much because I'll spoil it. This book has no magic what so ever, it is based in the modern era where the old clashes with the new.
I loved the book and would highly recommend it. However, there is some violence. I can't remember if there was any profanity. No sexual content.
This would be great as a movie.
