Charlotte's a girl with nicknames. She may not love being called Charles or Chuck, but the hardest nickname to take is the one she was given in college, the one that's followed her now for too many years. They call her “the husband maker” and sadly, it fits. Every guy she's dated since high school has gone on to marry the next girl they date. Not two or three girls down the road. The very next one.
Is she doing something wrong or is she just cursed?
When Kyle Aldsworth enters the picture and sweeps her off her feet, Charlotte begins to hope that maybe she's not destined to be single forever. A senator's son with political aspirations of his own, Kyle's wealthy, handsome, and in need of a wife. Will Charlotte be disappointed yet again, or will she finally be able to make a husband for herself?

What made the experience of listening to The Husband Maker the most enjoyable?
It was so well written and descriptive that the characters seemed to come to life.Who was your favorite character and why?
Charlotte was my favorite character. To enjoy a book I have to feel that the characters are believable. Charlotte seemed so genuine. I loved how the author actually made you care about them.Have you listened to any of Nicky Phillips’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I never have but I thoroughly enjoyed her performance. She's one of the best I've heard. She did exceptional on all the different voices and really portrayed the emotions well. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have loved to listen to it all in one sitting. Unfortunately, I couldn't but you know it's a good book when you think about it when you aren't reading/listening to it and you can't wait to find out what happens next.Any additional comments?
I loved this book so much I immediately got the rest of the series and can't wait to see what happens.Fantastic Book!

Charlotte just doesn't seem to keep the guys hooked for long. After breaking up with her they all marry the next girl they date. There's nothing wrong with Charlotte. She's a typical 20-something with talents and a career, a great personality, and an independent lifestyle. When she finally meets Kyle, it seems like he is THE ONE. Swoon! He is sincerely charming. It's nice to have good men in Romance novels.
I really like the core characters especially Charlotte, her brother, and their childhood friend Angus. Their teasing and name calling feels familiar.
I knew a conflict was around the bend and I thought I could guess what it was. But I was wrong which was a pleasant surprise. This book is very current in subject matter. I was never uncomfortable playing it out loud. My kids listened a little here and there and I never had to worry that something inappropriate would pop up.
Warning: cliff hanger at the end! You are going to NEED the next book ASAP!

What about Nicky Phillips’s performance did you like?
The narrator's voice seemed to fit Charlotte's perfectly, and made the story an enjoyable and easy listen.Any additional comments?
This was a fun and engaging romance that had me rooting for and crying right along with Charlotte, the main character. I immediately knew which guy she should end up with, but that didn't stop me from reading to find out how it would all go down. I ended up making up tasks that I needed to do for an extra hour so I could finish listening to the book because I couldn't make myself stop. My heart broke for her at the end, and I immediately had to start listening to book 2. I'm so glad I waited until the series was finished before I started listening!fun start to a series
