About this listen

When Savannah Mast's fiance dumps her a week before their wedding, she flees California for the safety of her Amish grandmother's farm near Nappanee, Indiana. She's not planning on staying long but becomes unexpectedly entangled in the search for a missing Amish girl. She can't leave - especially not when her childhood friend Tommy Yoder is implicated as a suspect.

When Savannah accompanies her grandmother to Plain Patterns, a nearby quilt shop, the owner and local historian, Jane Berger, relates a tale about another woman's disappearance back in the 1800s that has curious echoes to today.

Inspired by the story, Savannah does all she can to find the Amish girl and clear Tommy's name. But when her former fiance shows up, begging her to return to California and marry him after all, she must choose between accepting the security of what he has to offer or continuing the complicated legacy of her family's faith.

I loved that this book was different from other Amish books. I liked the way it went from the 1800’s to now. Both stories were fascinating. It held my attention so well. I can’t wait to read the next 2 in the series.

The best book I have read in a long time

I like that the author weaved the parallels of the main character and her ancestor with such precision and detail.

It takes a community to make a change

I enjoyed reading this book the fact that it spans more than one generation. I was also intrigued to read about the native women many generations back. This has good historical significance that many people often do not think about. This book is well worth your time in reading. Take the time to enjoy.

This is a good story reflecting on more than one generation.

This is the first time I have listened to a book by this author. SHE IS WONDERFUL !!!! This book is like reading six stories in one and comes together seamlessly. The title caught my interested because I'm presently piecing two King size log cabin quilts and wanted the theme of quilting as I work. However, it turned out to be so much more. I found myself running to my piecing so I could listen to the story. And of course Stina Nielsen the narrator is excellent as always. This is one of two books in the series and I can't wait to start the second book. GREAT WRITING !!!!

Love everything about this book
