Publisher's summary

Jim and Karen Blackmore have discovered that when it comes to the zombie apocalypse, there is no such thing as safety in numbers. Between their separate groups of survivors is a city of the living dead, hungry for flesh and growing in numbers by the minute.

As Jim and his newly minted gang of zombie killers fight their way to his family, Karen fortifies her hideout and prepares for an emergency escape she knows is inevitable. As night falls and their chances of seeing the dawn seem impossible, Jim and Karen's only wish is to reunite as the end of the world begins.

great story

The narrator sounds more like a sports broadcaster reading to his child than someone reading story. I do enjoy this book with it's comic relief and awkwardness (in Leon's case).

Really enjoyed this continuing zombie story.

I hope this series continues! To anyone whom maybe put off by this narrator, please give it a couple chapters, his voice grows on you. This book is well worth the listen.

Jim is determined to get to Karen..

Joseph "Zombie" Zuko continues The Infected series with Nightfall. Jim and his band of "warriors" are still struggling to reach his wife Karen and his two daughters. While Jim is trying to reach her, Karen is just trying to stay strong for her two daughters while waiting for Jim to find them. This installment in the series has a lot of thrills in it. Unfortunately in the zombie apocalypse, it's not just zombies you have to fear. If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it!!

Bad narration

This another series where a switch in narrator has made it hard to get through one of the books. This guy's pretty bad. Most of the time it sounds like he's spitting out as many sentences as he can in a single breath. Unfortunately it looks like the rest of the series is the same narrator so I won't be finishing it.

Love these books

I've previously read all of this series. I love each of them. I have enjoyed listening to this book on audible! The narrator does a good job of smoothly jumping between characters(both genders), and keeping you immersed in the story line.

Keeps getting better

Love this series. Writing this after listening to the first 5 books. Starting 6 today.
The characters are just your every day normal people. Think you and your neighbors! You get an almost minute by minute play out of the zombie outbreak. The action is nonstop. Jim is our hero & Karen is a bad ass and I love them both so much! We get a few new characters in each book. No one is safe!
Jim & Karen will do anything to keep their girls safe! The action in this one is nonstop as well. This is a great series! I’ve been binging it!
Tom Bishop did an amazing job narrating. I usually don’t like it when a narrator is changed in a series but Tom did a great job so I was completely ok with this.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Loved the Story, but........

I’m a loyal fan of The Infected Series; usually, I read the kindle version and up until now I had no issues...
I found the narrator of the story to be lacking in ability to project the emotions of the characters and he simply sounded like he was being paid to read a story. There was excitement where there shouldn’t have been and sometimes sentences, chapters, thoughts, etc. just ended abruptly. There was a scene where he read the sane sentence twice! Mind you, the written words hadn’t changed; the book was well written. The narrator didn’t read the story well. I often had to go back and listen again because some scenes and thoughts of the characters were hard to follow. My advice to the author would be to either narrate his own stories, or have someone that understands his books and characters as well he does, narrate them.
If this had been my first contact with The Infected series, I wouldn’t read/listen to any more in the series.
Maybe, I’ll just stick to the kindle versions! But, hey, like I said: well written (I had already read the kindle version), well thought out, and believable characters…now all that is needed is a new narrator!!! Just one woman’s opinion…

I wish the old narrator was there.

Oh man, what a long day

The day the world went to hell is finally ending for Jim, Karen, and the few surviving friends and family. This one came with some hard losses, hard decisions, and finally a happyish reunion for the little family we have been rooting for over the course of their very long day. When I first heard of Joseph Zuko and The Infected series it looked like it was going to be a trilogy, I am beyond excited that he did not stop here and we get to meet back up with the family in book 4 and experience more of this new world with them. This series is one of the best in the genre and a must read for all zombie fans.
