I liked the setting of a coaching inn being the central theme that connects these three excellently written stories.
The narrator has an enjoyable voice and brought these Regency stories to life.
THE SEVENTH STAR INN by Sally Britton

THE SEVENTH STAR INN by Sally Britton--Susan Baxter grew up in Totnes and can't imagine living anywhere else. When the small town learns they have a new landlord, Collin Stonecroft, she worries if he'll start changing things.
What a great start to this collections. I loved how Susan interacted with Collin's young daughter in the bookstore. I also liked that Susan took Collin on a tour of Totnes so he could see what she loves about he small town.
THE TRUTH ABOUT MR. BLACKMORE by Annette Lyon--When Mattias McGrady comes to stay at the Old Grey Inn he is taken by Leigh, who works for her aunt and uncle who own the Inn. He lets her know his true identity, that of author Simon Blackmore, and invites her to attend a society function masquerading as his intended, but things do not go as planned and both of their futures may be ruined.
I loved the mystery of this one as a famous author stays under an assumed name. I liked that Leigh was already a fan of his books and that she and Simon got along so well. The dinner going downhill so quickly and thoroughly took me by surprise but I was happy with the ending, especially that Leigh was free of the aunt and uncle who were taking advantage of her.
THE COACHMAN'S CHOICE by Deborah M. Hathaway--Mary Thorne helps her mother run the Golden Mermaid, where coachman Robert Northcott stops every Thursday. He is a major flirt and Mary wants nothing to do with him or any other coachman. One day a harsh comment from Mary about his flirting makes him start to rethink his flirtatious ways and maybe a possible future with Mary.
I liked that Robert took Mary's words to heart and thought about all his interactions with the women he met along his coaching route. I also liked that he was willing to set aside his plans to have a life with Mary.
I really like this narrator. She's done other Regency collections and is very talented with the voices including those of children.
Another great collection

All three stories are unique and excellently written novellas with well-fleshed out characters, all of whom are normal working-people (a breath of fresh air in a Regency genre overcrowded with aristocracy).
The Seventh Star Inn by Sally Britton (5 stars)
Delightful characters and a creative situation-this story was a joy to read. A love story of two people, a little girl, an old river town and an Inn where their love story had it’s beginning.
The Truth About Mr. Blackmore by Annette Lyon (5 stars)
I loved this story! It was clever and creative with touches of Cinderella, but went so much deeper into the characters’ motivations and personalities, than that simple comparison implies.
I ended the story with that wonderful sigh that comes with a good HEA.
The Coachman’s Choice by Deborah M. Hathaway (5 stars)
A unique story of a coachman and an inn-keeper’s daughter.
I agree with the premise that love can not only change a person’s behavior, but help one realize what the true desires of one’s heart had been all along.
Narration: 5 stars
Kim Bretton does an excellent job! I never tire of her voice. She has good expression and pace and believable male voices.

All three short stories were engaging and entertaining but my favorite was The Truth About Mr. Blackmore by Annette Lyon. I enjoyed that the hero was not the typical male character found in most romances. He came from humble beginnings and his background was cleverly written with a bit of a twist.
Kim Bretton does outstanding work with the narration. All of the character voices were uniquely identifiable, and she did especially well with the various accents.
I found this latest offering in the Timeless Regency Collection to be quite delightful, endearing, and well-narrated. Highly recommended!
