Publisher's summary

Johnstone Country. Draw quick, Aim true. Pinkerton. Sheriff. Lawman. Buck Trammel has spent his life fighting for justice. Now, he must defend a town against corrupt businessmen and scurrilous outlaws from turning it into a bloody battleground.

Family feud. Blackstone, Wyoming, belongs to "King" Charles Hagen. The rancher bought land, built businesses, and employs most of the townsfolk. Unfortunately, Sheriff Buck Trammel is not on His Majesty's payroll. The lawdog won't be tamed or trained to accept King's position as master of the territory, but neither will he threaten his empire.

Adam Hagen, King's oldest son, is vying to take control of his father's violent empire in Blackstone. Sidling up with the notorious criminal Lucien Clay, Adam is adding professional gunmen to his gang of murderous ranch hands who perform his dirty deeds without question. But moving against his father means crossing paths with his former friend Buck - the man who once saved Adam's life.

A civil war is coming to Blackstone. And when gunsmoke clears, Buck Trammel is determined to be the last man standing....

Justice is hard to find

Intriguing what will make a good man go bad, At the same time, and through the same events, an internal moral compass seems to guide anouther man to do good. Two friends and the different paths that lead them through this adventure have you interested and entertained throughout.

unfinished story of Blackstone Ranch

I was enjoying this book until it suddenly ended. I guess that was the clift hanger.I don't like cliffhangers in books.

The Intruders

An interesting story. Well told. Kept my attention. Nonetheless, in the end I was disappointed.

I do not wish to be a spoiler, so I will not provide my rationale. The ending surprised me. The ending disappointed me. Unless this sets up a sequel, I remain disappointed.

Do Not Buy - It Is Only Half A Book

Love William Johnstone. Loved the first two books in this series. Hated this book because it is only half a book. It ends half way through. You may be trying something new Mr. Johnstone or Audible thought they could double their sales, either way I feel cheated.

I hated the fact that the bad guys won there was just too much of the bad guys winning.
