About this listen

Celia Graves was once an ordinary human, but those days are long gone. Now she strives to maintain her sanity and her soul while juggling both vampire abilities and the powers of a Siren.

Warned of a magical "bomb" at a local elementary school, Celia forces an evacuation. Oddly, the explosion seems to have no effect, puzzling both Celia and the FBI. Two weeks later, a strangely persistent bruise on Celia's leg turns out to be the first sign of a magical zombie plague.

Finding the source of the plague isn't Celia's only concern. Her alcoholic mother has broken out of prison on the Sirens' island; her little sister's ghost has possessed a young girl; and one of Celia's boyfriends, a powerful mage, has disappeared.

Nice Storyline Poor Narrator

Would you try another book from Cat Adams and/or Arika Escalona?

Yes to Cat Adams, I will try to avoid Arika.

How could the performance have been better?

It is hard to tell thoughts from speech, and multiple character scenes become a muddle of who is speaking.

Was The Isis Collar worth the listening time?

I almost gave up on the audiobook and switched to the book multiple times. If I didn't have a long commute, I would have.

Another Great Adventure

The Isis Collar continues Celia Graves story as an investigator with new and unusual powers (part Vampire and Siren - unusual, right?). I recommend this book as a great escape into an alternate universe with very entertaining characters. Nothing deep going on here, but just a fun and entertaining 9 hrs and 38 minutes, that I consider well worth the credit I spent.

What you should know:
-Not a stand-alone book, previous books must be read to understand the character interaction.
-While this is an entertaining book, no major progress is made within Celia's world as relates to her powers, or her relationships... What you knew at the end of book 3, is pretty much what you know at the end of book 4. However, the story is a great adventure within Celia's world and shouldn't be missed if you enjoyed the previous 3.
