The key to understanding the past is to live through it....

History student Rachel Fisher has dreamed of the past all her life. When a mysterious box sends her back through time to 12th century Scotland she thinks her dreams have come true, especially when she falls straight into the arms of a burly Highland Laird who vows to protect her from the evil that's chasing her.

Grizzled warrior Cam MacGregor knows one thing. He must not fall for the beguiling lass from the future. Already whispers are spreading among the clan. He has taken her in because she's bewitched him. The omens are coming true. The Sassanach does not belong. She must be sacrificed.

In a world that wants her dead, Rachel’s only hope lies with the brawny Highlander. As their mutual desire grows into an all-consuming need, Rachel is forced into an impossible choice. Save herself and run from the man she’s come to love or sacrifice her own life to save his clan from oblivion?

Get Swept Away In this Epic Romance

This is an extremely enjoyable time travel historical romance. A exciting plot is paired with likable characters to create a book that quickly sweeps you up into all the adventure, tensions, danger, emotional turmoil, drama, myth, magic, suspense and desire. The pull of attraction between Rachel and Cam was easy to feel and I thought they made a terrific couple. The narrator had a pleasant voice and her accent really helped bring you into the book. A great book!

Interesting story

The book definitely keeps you guessing but was very fast moving. Usually you feel that a book can drag on but not this one. I felt like it could have been longer, more romance, more explanations into the mystery of the time travel. I like more of a smutty book and if you do too, this may not be the book for you as the book is very innocent- a kiss here, a kiss there and all of sudden they’re in love. The story is good and I’ll probably listen to the next ones in line but just because I want to know what happens to the brother. The performance was very good by the reader. All in all, I’d give it a 4 star because the book keeps you guessing.

Decent story. Shorter than I typically like.

Good story. I laughed out loud a few times. The only problem I had was the narrator's voice chosen for the hero. I'm not going to say what it sounds like to me because I don't want to unintentionally put an image in someone's mind before listening. It was a good story and I will listen to other books narrated by and written by both of these people. They honestly were very good. As stated I typically enjoy longer stories than this for more character and plot development but for a short read it really kept me interested the entire time. I just had a hard time getting into the book because of that 1 thing. The other voices by the narrator were great no other problems. Great flowing speech patterns, pronunciation was on point and legitimately 0 other problems.

Not my favorite time travel romance

The narrator does a very poor male voice and this story was not one of my favorites. I wouldn't recommend, there are so many better ones.
