About this listen

Each time he struck, he took two victims. Day after day, he waited for the first body to be discovered - a body containing all the clues the investigators needed to find the second victim, who waited...prey to a slow but certain death. The clock ticked - salvation was possible.

The police were never in time.

Years have passed; but for this killer, time has stood still. As a heat wave of epic proportions descends, the game begins again. Two girls have disappeared...and the clock is ticking.

Rookie FBI agent Kimberly Quincy knows the killer's deadline can be met. But she'll have to break some rules to beat an exactingly vicious criminal at a game he's had time to perfect.

For the killing hour has arrived...

Pretty Good

Not Lisa Gardner’s best work; a little disjointed. But it was an interesting storyline and filled in some blanks.

Story is Good....

The narrator is hard to warm up too... she does well with Kimberly, but the male voices are just well not right. The story is intricate and well done, the ending is electric. If you can adjust to the voice the book plot will carry you ...

Good, but rushed..

Good book. I feel it could have been better if it haden't been so rushed. New people in this book were introduced too early. I think it could have been much more intresting if it haden't felt as tho the auther was just trying to bring it to an end. Worth a free credit, although I don't know if its worth paying for. Not the Lisa Gardner we know and love!

Wow thrilling listen

This was one exciting listen, a man who leaves clues with the bodies of where the next body can be found. What a thrilling shocking listen. You have a little bit of everything in this story. It really held my attention from start to finish. The story is a great listen, with good character and a great plot. There are a lot of twists and turns, I sure didn't see some of them coming, and others are a big shock. It is a story that is heartbreaking, touching and very sad but at the same time thrilling and exciting. I really enjoyed it and have bought a few more from this author.

I thought the narrator did a wonderful job bring the story to life, giving emotions, pausing when you need her to, giving you an emotional touching listen. As I listen, I went through so many emotions, times I wanted to cry, laugh and even chuckle. There is no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume change. It really was a delightful listen that the narrator pulled me into.

Narration and sound is awful on this version

The sound and narration is very monotone and sounds disjointed and like it was recorded in a vacuum. I couldn’t even get through the first chapter and had to return this for the other version narrated by Anna Fields. That one has more updated sound. *I also wonder why this version is half the playing time of the other version?

No character development

I wanted the protagonist to fail. Maybe the worst book I’ve read. Performer did a good job with awful story line. Outcome was so not a surprise.
