About this listen

A cursed kraken discovers the ultimate prize-his enemy's daughter.

The Kraken Pirate King

A witch cursed me to roam the seas in my monstrous kraken form. For years, my crew and I have sailed in search of the key to break her spell. But this pirate has found the most valuable treasure of all . . . the witch's daughter.

The Unsuspecting Human

Looking for adventure, I followed a hunch. It got me kidnapped and taken aboard a ghost ship with a kraken for a captain. How could I have guessed magic was real? Or that I was born to wield it?

Will these fated mates find their way to happily ever after? Or will secrets force them apart?

Contains mature themes.

The story is sweet, the mmc is a great balance of cinnamon roll and enemy, and the voice acting packs a lot of emotion into the performance. I really enjoyed listening! :)

I loved it!!!!!

The narrators did a fantastic job. This series is one of my favorite and I love the nods to classic fairytale stories!

Love me some tentacles!

Book two in the series is about the friend who sneaks off without signing anything. Ends up in a water world and attacked by a merman. A monster comes to save her. Later to turn to a man ish. She’s attracted to him but he throws her in a prison thinking she’s a dangerous woman. The true mate bond they feel keeps her free but trust is slow building. Her accident has left her with massive brain issues that causes memory loss and also balance issues. But no post it notes there to keep her remembering what has happened.

My review
My feel on this book was eh. I was not a fan of the male lead in the start. Just because of enemies to lovers only does so much for me. He was a stubborn man and also got off on scaring her at times. Or making her angry in the beginning. I disliked that.
Then the female lead was a great start. She had major memory issues. Where she forgets so much. Post it notes and planners to keep her going. Man breaks up with her, but she toughs through it. But when she gets on the boat and it’s not so much of an issue anymore. Minus the first night. Afterwards, they don’t reference as much to memory issues. Like every day, she can remember everything. Which I don’t understand. I feel like the book would have been better if she had that as part of her journey and how everyone would help her. Would have been sweet. Then her personality changes. Like she becomes more bratty. Also, some of these decisions, she makes irritates me.
Getting down to the base of the story it was not bad . Woman gets saved by a pirate and had secrets of her home that she has no idea about. The rough captain learns to love. The sexy parts were ok but not my favorite.

Narration was good too
I feel like many would like this book but it’s just my taste in things that I dislike it.
I still plan on reading book 3 in the future sometime. Hopefully less a-hole and brat feel in it.

Not my favorite out of the bunch but not the worse
