About this listen

Here there be monsters.

It was an offer too good to refuse: spend one month in the most haunted house in the world. When the reclusive owner of Duskwood Manor opens the door to five teams of paranormal investigators, there's no way my team can say no.

But there are no ghosts here. There are monsters. They live under my bed, in my closet, and watch me from the shadows, whispering filthy visions in my ear at night. Begging me to come with them to their world—the Void, where the monsters roam free . . . where they teach me what it really means to want.

Every night I disappear from the mortal world to play in theirs, swallowed by their insatiable, terrifying shadows. Consumed by their claws and fangs. Caressed by slick tentacles and endless, delicious hunger.

But the longer I stay in the Void, the harder it is to ignore its call.

There is a price to pay for stepping foot in this manor . . . and the monsters have demanded me.

Contains mature themes.

Held Captivated

It got me right from the beginning… The narration was really good… this over the road truck driver ,listened to it in the entirety while driving from Wells, Nevada to Oakland, California… Wish they had more from this author..

Not Bad

The scenes were pretty good. I liked her partners, hated that they were always (even by themselves) referred to as monsters. That's fine when they were first encountered, but just felt wrong after that. These guys are written as full characters, not cannon folder in a dungeon. Could have just called them collectively "the others" or something.

As an HP Lovecraft fan, I was both interest by and bothered by how references to his work were included. Basically Lovecraft stuff tends to break the minds of those who witness these beings, the MC is barely creeped out by them at first then is quite cozy with the other world and it's denizens. To be fair, we do get to see one character lose their mind, and I can accept that the MC is just special. Personally I'd have been happier with more of a horror tone to this book giving the material and settings it's using.

A must read/listen.

From beginning to end I was awe struck and in love with this paranormal story. This story was written was such passion you can hear it in every chapter. It will definitely be worth the time to get through this book.

Mostly just smex

This book has a great premise and some interesting segments. However, the plethora of sex scenes cut into the plot development, and the story feels under developed and choppy. If you are reading for just the erotica value, then this might work, but if you need more plot, you chance being quite disappointed.

Concept of the story was good, however..

It seems the story took a backseat to the sexual encounters with the monsters. I stopped reading halfway through when the monster's sexual actions seem to minick regular men. They appear to know the female anatomy better than some men. At least the sea creature had sucker's and tentacles.
