About this listen

Osama bin Laden is dead.
Saddam Hussein is buried.
Baghdad lies in ruins.

Now the eyes of the world are on Jerusalem as Jon Bennett - a Wall Street strategist turned senior White House advisor - his beautiful CIA partner Erin McCoy, and the U.S. Secretary of State arrive in the Middle East to meet with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

On the table: a dramatic and potentially historic Arab-Israeli peace plan, of which Bennett is the chief architect. At the heart of the proposed treaty is the discovery of black gold deep underneath the Mediterranean - a vast and spectacular tract of oil and natural gas that could offer unprecedented riches for every Muslim, Christian, and Jew in Israel and Palestine.

But in the shadows lie men whose hearts are filled with evil - men who do not relish a post-Saddam era, men for whom the prospect of a Palestinian peace accord with Israel goes against everything for which their fathers have fought and died. Such men - and the countries that finance them - are ready to do anything necessary to slaughter those who stand in their way.

The clock is ticking. Can Bennett, McCoy, and the American president make peace before the Middle East once again erupts in war?

Author Joel E. Rosenberg’s book was indeed a rapid fire page-turner!!! His research on the Holy Land, its religions, and politics throughout the Middle East, is impeccable. He, also, knows well U.S. political and military tactics! It all combines to create a realistic, hard to put down book.

The narration by Patrick G. Law brings the book to life!

Don’t miss this book!

This book was a 5 Star rapid fire page-turner!

Liked the plot, the realism and most of all the non-stop action. It's a gGmreat read.

A seemingly realistic portrayal of Middle East politics and the role of the U.S.

Great thriller that you can imagine happening in real life. I’d wager there are confidential documents that have these same events happening! Great story! Ready to begin the next book!

Edge of your seat!

It was a good story. But sometimes dragged with dry information that could have been conveyed in a more interesting way. Maybe conversationally or not in one big pile. Other than that, it was a good story.
the Narrator wasn't my favorite, but he was ok.

Good story

Another page turner from Rosenberg. You feel that you are in the middle of a gripping tale from the first few pages. Part three, here I come.

Just Finished and Ready To Order Third Book

The story is good, the writing is very good, the narrator is very good. The author lacks some knowledge of military operations and military people, firearms, and how high level people (civilian and military) think and operate and that keeps knocking me out of the story. There is a whole lot of what English teachers (when they used to actually teach literature, writing, and language) used to call "character development" and at times I hit the "skip forward 30 sec" button.

The story was entertaining and exciting at times, but I'm not going to listen to the rest of the series.

Good Story, Lacks Some Reality

overall interesting but at times too wordy describing the setting or circumstances. Radical terrorism, a contemporary theme juxtaposes an ideal oil for peace solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Terrorism and Peace

I only wish we could come to a peace agreement. but that is unfortunately unlikely

exciting even if unbelievable.

I have listened to a lot of your books and have read many of them. I don’t feel the swear words in the book added anything to the story. I have always thought if you are well educated you don’t need to lower yourself to that language. I realize it would not bother most people but it did bother me. I am not sure I will be purchasing any more of your books.

Good “but”

This was an amazing story, chocked full of detail that would have required a mountain of research. My only wish is that it had less of the inappropriate language. I understand the premise but still wish it wasn't there.

Awesome story. Could have left out all the uses of God's name in vain.
