Publisher's summary

Earth is reeling. American alliances are shaking. And humanity's enemies rally. For six months after the failed alien attack, American Admiral Jack Mattis has been ordered to patrol the periphery, to stop more alien incursions - even though he knows the attackers weren't alien, but grotesque mutated super-humans from the future. A truth world governments publicly deny. And now an American scientist witnesses an experimental super-weapon gone awry at a top-secret genetic lab in deep space, while a rebel veterans group storms a Chinese embassy on an American world. Tensions flare, and the American-Chinese peace begins to fray. Admiral Mattis races to put out the fires, while trying to piece together the mystery of the future human invasion, knowing that failure means not only certain death for him, but for the entire human race. The clock is ticking.

Book 2 is as great as first book. I look forward to read next book. The auditor is excellent he makes the characters sound so real.

ugh

great story, but dialog is worse than a 5th grade reader. Steve Jones may be a good reader, but his adolescent attempt at voice characterisation and geographic accents, didn't even hit paper. The only thing that kept my interest was the fact I had to get to the point of a different reader. Good luck Steve in finding a genre that fits with your talents and ability.

ok....

not as good as the 1st. the last 1/3 of the book i found enjoyable, the 1st 2/3 terrible, and chuck mattis down right insufferable 😣. i hope the 3rd book will be better, though i may never know, it was really tough staying with this book. also, the narrator has a voice of Nyquil- he will put you to sleep.

Aliens or not??

Captain Madison gets into it again with the Chinese navy and Senator Pitt. Peter Brostrom hooked me with his Science Fiction book. Really good read. It grabs you from cover to cover. The Narrator does a great job in presenting the story.

Needs a new narrator

The narration is pitiful. It is as if this story is being read to a child.

Good story line poorly told.

Not well written, lots of non scientific facts. The narrator is slow speaking, ran at 1.25x and it was an improvement. Flaming cockpits in space, heat transfer in a vacuum from an open fire. The military stereotypes are trite and not believable. I bought the group or would he ejected after the first book.
