About this listen

The buried contents of a Nazi train. An aging SS mass murderer still on the run. And the wartime secrets of a US presidential hopeful's Jewish family, hidden for seven decades.

War crimes investigator and ex-CIA officer Joe Johnson is more than intrigued when he learns of a link between the financing for the presidential candidate's 2012 campaign, the Nazi train, and a ruthless blackmail plot.

But the investigation becomes bigger and more deeply personal than Johnson expects when it turns out the SS Holocaust killer escaped his net years earlier.

Soon, there are high-level intelligence agencies and criminal networks combining across three continents against Johnson and his two female colleagues, one from MI6, the other a journalist.

He finds himself inextricably caught up in a terrifying quest to win justice, to avenge his mother's tortured past, and revive his flagging career.

With dramatic settings, explosive action and characters readers will come to love, The Last Nazi is a gripping full-length thriller - the first in a forthcoming series featuring Joe Johnson.

Meet Joe Johnson today and hear how he puts himself in the firing line in his fight for justice.

The reason I listen to Audio Books

I'm looking for distraction on the treadmill and a way to drift off at night.. New Author to me. I liked it well enough to prioritize the next book in the series as my next listen!

Fast Pace Thriller

The Last Nazi is a fast moving historical fiction where present day ex CIA and OSI agent and Nazi hunter, Joe Johnson chases one that got away. This is my first book by author Andrew Turpin. This book started off really well for me but I could not quite get my head around one or two of the rather implausible plot twists. Joe Johnston is still developing in this first novel, might be interesting to see how he turns out in the second and third novels in this series. It is a fast paced novel and there is plenty of action for action lovers. I did enjoy it despite the rather convoluted and at times silly plot. It is a well written and suspenseful novel worthy of reading. I plan to read more in the series.

The last nazi a review

I just finished listening to the last nazi.i have to admit that when I first started listening to this audio book.I found some of the technical statements about the Espionage Business a little obscure and I definitely had to look up whether or not there was an actual Starbucks at CIA headquarters in Langley. But the more I listened to the more my interest peaked at the story and trying to figure out what the twists were going to which I’m happy to say kept me guessing until they popped up. Overall I really enjoyed this audio book and I highly recommend it.

Huntin' Nazis On a Road Trip

What did you love best about The Last Nazi: A Joe Johnson Thriller?

I like modern day Nazi hunter mysteries. Not a bad first go for this writer. Plot was good. The brother retelling his escape from the concentration camp was powerful. Wish there was more interplay between main character and the international spy agencies. And maybe a dash more romance for Joe.
Narration was great. The reader nailed the 2 Polish brothers. Again very moving performance of the brothers' escape. Damn good Israeli accent too.
I'll give the next one a listen.

Fast paced thriller with international intrigue.

Like mixture of Nazi crime and current US politics. Didn’t like the weak link between different sub stories.
