Publisher's summary

One shot. One kill. A deadly sniper targets the only man to escape him—Jack Widow.

A sniper is out there, murdering the best shooters in the world until he’s all that’s left. Widow is the only man to survive an encounter with the suspect.

This sniper is a whisper, a phantom, a ghost, known as the Rainmaker. His shooting falls somewhere between the best there ever was and godlike.

As the Rainmaker murders the world’s top shooters in cold blood, one by one, only Widow can track and stop him.

Do you love Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp, and Mark Greaney’s Gray Man? Then you will binge the entire Jack Widow action-thriller series once you’ve heard one minute.

Good backstory

Lots of time shifting in the story - not a fan of that, but overall a good book.

The time when Widow's past has come to haunt him

Widow is enjoying his nomadic life when his old job comes a-calling. Someone is targeting the world's best snipers and it is connected to an old op that went bad. Now Widow has to work with an old nemesis to catch the man behind Widow's nightmares. Another good story in the series.

I hope dip is not foretelling!

I got lost somewhere in this story more than once. Had to read over often. Maybe I was in the wrong mood for this book. Just never cared much about people and their stories.
Time for Jack to return to the states.

Suspense scene is grating, too long, gratuitously violent

too repetitive, too obvious. The suspense scene went on so long it became sappy and grating. We get it, “the girl with the volcanic eyes.”
