About this listen

As a guest, Dr. Watson is observing the induction services of The League of Mendacious Men. To gain admission to the exclusive club a prospective member must tell an original tall tale. The evening begins pleasantly and ends in a violent tragedy. Sherlock Holmes navigates a tale of murder whose solution is lost amid a sea of lies.

This is a novella length story typical of the Holmes tales. The Sherlock Holmes Uncovered Tales are a series of original stories based upon the immortal characters, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The League of Mendacious Men is the 10th story in the series.

True to the spirit of the original Arthur Conan Doyle-Sherlock Holmes canon. An engaging story which, despite its highly original plot line, is nevertheless faithful to the characters ACD created.
Narration by Patrick Conn is flawless.

Superb!

Good but not particularly compelling short story written in the Doyle style. Certainly entertaining and I enjoyed it, but just nothing very special or new.

Narrator was good but again, not exceptional.

If you're a real Holmes fan, I would recommend this to go along with the other recent Holmes stories. Good as a short story. It's always fun to see what obvious clues I've missed.

Good Short Story with Holmes and Watson
