About this listen

In The Legend, Callie Reed doesn't need a man to protect her. An expert sharpshooter and renegade hacker, this Texas-born spitfire's got the skills and the courage to stand up to any danger - no matter how deadly. But when she becomes the target of a shadowy organization known as the Saints, Callie is forced to team up with the one man she can't outshoot: the gorgeous and infuriating Lone Star legend named Wyatt Loughman.

A Delta Force colonel with a rock-hard body and stone-cold heart, Wyatt has been teasing and tormenting Callie since they were playmates on his family's ranch. Of course he's wildly attracted to the fiery, strong-willed Callie. But he's always hidden his feelings behind a wall of Texas tough and military cool, even as he's burning up with desire. Can Wyatt save Callie's life - without putting her love in the line of fire?

Contains mature themes.

Like an apocalypse.

So much action. Little bit of romance. Still not the end of the story. Lots of revenge to follow and serving it arctic. Still got to stop the Saints too. Two more books to go and my only problem is they aren't on escape. *sigh*

Great action scenes

Wyatt is someone who has held my interest since the first book to this series. He was so hard headed, tortured and broken that I wanted to know what drove him and his reaction to Callie. His inability to love or be loved broke my heart.

From day one Callie was a favorite for me with all her spunk and determination. She protected those she loves, she recreated her life so she wasn't like her loser family and her skill sets are amazing. At first I thought her dislike of Wyatt seemed a bit much in The Hero and wondered what a book about the two of them would be like. Throughout this book the author expands the past relationship between these two and the reader gets a very clear understanding behind what drives both of them. All this friction adds to an exciting and dramatic story.

This book is about redemption, forgiveness, everlasting love, and seeing hidden truth behind conflicting words and actions.

I give it 5 STARS for all the action scenes, the sexual tension between Callie and Wyatt as well as the resolution between everyone and Orrin.
