Brother Cadfael sets out to visit the Saint Giles leper colony outside Shrewsbury, knowing that a grand wedding is due to take place at the Abbey of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. As he arrives at Saint Giles, the nuptial party passes the colony's gates. He sees the fragile bride, looking like a prisoner between her two stern guardians, and the groom, an arrogant, fleshy aristocrat old enough to be her grandfather. With his usual astuteness he suspects that this union may be more damned than blessed.
He is horrifically proved right when a savage murder disrupts the May-December marriage leaving Brother Cadfael with a dark and terrible mystery to solve. For the key to the killing - and a secret - are hidden among the lepers of Saint Giles, and Brother Cadfael's skills must diagnose a sickness, not of the body, but of a twisted soul.

Anyway it was one of the middle books in the series but the concept gripped me so intook it, just to have a physical model to try and find the other books….
Patrick tull does an excellent job of imitating the vocal Style of Sir Derrick Jacobi …
I do have one issue and that is the background noise…..
Was this recording originally made for the stereo to mono audio cassettes? For those who dont remember to reduce the cost of audiobooks they would double record on the cassettes, once with the left channel and then once with the right channel …. Unfortunately it was next to impossible to completely suppress the one channel so you get a mumble whisper in the background
Fine addition to the series

Would you consider the audio edition of The Leper of St. Giles to be better than the print version?
Hmm? Tough question. Considering all aspects, I would call it a draw, for each, were enjoyable in their own unique way.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, I suspected the culprit early in the story but he only slipped up near the ending and it wasn't revealed until later but it was an "ahh, haa!" moment for me.Which character – as performed by Patrick Tull – was your favorite?
As always, he is the voice of Brother Cadfael. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The last scene between Brother Cadfael and the old leper was so well written and so narrated that I was almost in tears. Actually, I read it first and then went to audible and listened. The audible did have me in tears.Any additional comments?
I am not tired of this wonderful series and look forward to the next chronical.Such A Great Series
