Loveday Cardew prefers books to people. If you look carefully, you might glimpse the first lines of the novels she loves most tattooed on her skin. But there are some things Loveday will never, ever show you.

Into her hiding place - the bookstore where she works - come a poet, a lover, and three suspicious deliveries.

Someone has found out about her mysterious past. Will Loveday survive her own heartbreaking secrets?

Oh and Imogen, couldn't get better. The story dragged sometimes, but the writing was incredibly well done.

So beautifully written!

This concoction of story and performance took me far away from my everyday life and landed me in the mind of young Loveday, who slowly, compellingly shares her jagged past and, as she comes to a new understanding of her present, reveals how she plans to move forward.

Not my usual read—but I loved it!

I loved all the characters. They are well developed and the narrator did a fantastic job portraying their voices. I would go so far as to say the narrator was exceptional! In a sea of talent on Audible, she stands out. Wish there were more books like this......

Great Book All the Way Around

This book is lovely - excellent characters, excellent writing. One of the smartest books in this genre that I’ve ever read. It’s a love poem to books and bookshops, and an insightful observation on trauma and grief and family and healing.

One of the very best
