In this moving story about losing and finding love again, a woman sets out to find the perfect matches for those closest to her.
Forty-eight-year-old Nantucketer Dabney Kimball Beech has always had a gift for matchmaking. Some call her ability mystical, while others, her husband, celebrated economist John Boxmiller Beech, and her daughter, Agnes, who is clearly engaged to the wrong man, call it meddlesome. But there's no arguing with her results: With 42 happy couples to her credit and all of them still together, Dabney has never been wrong about romance.
Never, that is, except in the case of herself and Clendenin Hughes, the green-eyed boy who took her heart with him long ago when he left the island to pursue his dream of becoming a journalist. Now, after spending 27 years on the other side of the world, Clen is back on Nantucket, and Dabney has never felt so confused, or so alive.
But when tragedy threatens her own second chance, Dabney must face the choices she's made and share painful secrets with her family. Determined to make use of her gift before it's too late, she sets out to find perfect matches for those she loves most.

The flow of the story. Excellent Narrator. What did you like best about this story?
Always the island of Nantucket! The stories of relationships that feel so real. Dabney and her love of people and Nantucket and Clendenin. What does Erin Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Erin Bennett brings life to the story and it's easy to become part of the characters! Her voice is relaxing which makes listening enjoyable. Love her narration! If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Life on Nantucket!!!Any additional comments?
I have enjoyed all Elin Hilderbrand's books. I feel she brings true life relationships and problems into her books that most everyone can identify. All her characters feel real. It's always interesting how these relationships/problems will transpire! She makes reading fun and I always look forward to her next book!Loved~another hit by Elin Hilderbrand!

Reading is an escape for me. I particularly read to escape sad thoughts of missing my mom, who passed away. Needless to say, expecting a beach read, then ending up enveloped in sadness, listening as main character circles the drain with a terminal illness-was emotionally draining. I so wish there could be trigger warnings on these when it involves sad death of a loved one, especially a beloved mother. I can’t always escape to the beach in the summer, but I sure as heck don’t want to hang out at a fictional hospice facility either. Ugh.
Tragically Sad Non Beach Read 😟
