Publisher's summary

In this inspirational fable, Jack McKee is a professional golfer who has just suffered through the most humiliating meltdown of his career. After years of struggle, he is ready to quit on his dream. He has convinced himself he doesn't have what it takes to make it on the PGA Tour. In an attempt to figure out why his career has ended up the way it has, Jack reaches out to one of the game's greatest former players for advice. This legendary golfer teaches Jack that the problem is not in his swing, but in his mind. As Jack learns to combat his thoughts of self-doubt and worry, his golf game improves right along with his mindset, culminating in the most important tournament of his career.

As this story plays out, you will learn: how to take control of your thoughts and make sure they are working for you instead of against you; the importance of talking to yourself instead of listening to yourself; how to develop a mental routine that will keep you in a positive state of mind; the technique used by many of the world's most successful people to make gratitude a part of their daily lives; the fastest way to fight off worry and negative thoughts; how to protect your mind from negative, anxiety-producing, and failure-oriented messages; the importance of your self-image; the key to performing at your best under pressure; how to find peace and confidence; and more.

Excellent

For anyone who competes in sports professionally, recreationally or competes in business, this book is for you. This book will help you keep your head in the game, effected less by negative thoughts. What I didn't expect, is it taught me to be ego-less.

This book won't change your life, at least not immediately. You need to practice what you learn on a consistent basis to overcome the negative thoughts that enter your mind. You also need to stay humble as you develop into the person you want to be.

Great book - highly recommended!

The lessons in this book are fantastic and presented in a very entertaining and engaging story. It's a relatively short book but it is packed with valuable insights into the importance of self-image, confidence, and being vigilant in guarding your subconscious from damaging negative messages and focusing on the things you can control in your life.
It's not a golf book, it's a personal development book centered around a fictional golf story. The lessons are applicable to all areas of life (including golf), however you need not be knowledgeable or even interested in golf to extract value from the book.
This would be a great gift for a teenager or young adult as it is written in a straightforward and simple way and isn't just another long, dry "life textbook". It is well worth the quick listen and small price-tag.

Simple & Impactful

If you’re looking for an academic tome, this ain’t your book. But if, like me, you’ve, at times (smirk) acquired knowledge that hasn’t led to actual change, this simple, clear, parabolic approach just might be what you need to read. Sure was helpful for me. Thanks!
