About this listen

In this psychological thriller, a missing patient raises concerns in a New York hospital, but as others start disappearing, every dark possibility becomes more and more likely.

To Senior Midwife Lucy Ryuan, pregnancy is not an unusual condition - it's her life's work. But when two kidnappings and a vicious stabbing happen on her watch in a university hospital in Manhattan, her focus abruptly changes. Something has to be done, and Lucy is fearless enough to try.

Rumors begin to swirl, blaming everyone from the Russian Mafia to an underground adoption network. Lucy teams up with a skeptical NYPD detective to solve the case, but the truth is far more twisted than a feisty single mom could ever have imagined.

The Midwife Murders

Once again James Patterson delivers a story of intrigue and thrills. My husband and I listened to this while on a road trip. The miles just melted away.

Midwife reviews midwife

Hard for me to get by the inaccuracy of some of the midwife info. Not particularly realistic.

Midwife Murders

This was, as they all are, another great book by Patterson. It is wonderful that he cowrites with other, lesser known authors, as it gets their names out to the reading public and gives folks a chance to read any books they write on their own. A great writer and a kind man!

Midwife Murders

I enjoyed reading this book! Very well written and great narration by Sophie Amoss.
This book kept me on my toes and I didn’t want to stop listening, the further into the story it went the scarier it got! The end was quite a twist!

Call the Midwife meets James Patterson.

Sophie Amoss is an outstanding narrator in this book. Which is way better than The Summer House.

Good storyline surprising ending. I sometimes had a hard time with the reader. Dialog was some times one sided.

Main Character Unlikable

I thought I might stop listening at one point, but persevered to the end. The character of Lucy is so unlikeable.
The person performing this book was just ok, but did use some words incorrectly (reconnaissance instead of recognizance is one example). Don’t know if that is performance error or writer error.

Easy listen

I figured out who the bad guy was about halfway through. The reader was easy to listen to but I cringed every time she mispronounced midwifery. I is pronounced “ mid whiff ery” not “mid wife ery”.
