Publisher's summary

A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring John Moffatt as Hercule Poirot.

Mrs Farrars is found dead of an apparent overdose one year after the death of her husband. The villagers of King's Abbot are suspicious. The rumour is that she poisoned her husband and was in love with Roger Ackroyd. When he is found murdered the following day, there is little to go on.

Luckily one of the newest residents who has retired to this normally quiet village is none other than Monsieur Hercule Poirot.

More BBC!

Wish BBC would do more of these! And perhaps branch out to other literary works like Bunyan, Addison, Blake, And more. Really makes required college reading transcend from boring to interesting; and further provides context for these older works.

My favorite book- my favorite drama

Where does The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (Dramatised) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

TMORA is one of the best dramas that the BBC has done from Agatha Christie's Poirot books, probably because it's one of her best books in the first place. Readers are more sophisticated these days so the revelation may not have the same dramatic effect but when I first read it I was blown away. The radio drama manages to keep the suspense and mystery until the appropriate time remarkably well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

John Moffat as Poirot is brilliant. Dr.Shepherd is great too.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It Just Got Real.

Any additional comments?

If you can't read the book this audio version is almost as good. The story is told in a tight, concise way that retains all the mystery and charm of the novel. I highly recommend it- along with all of the BBC Agatha Christie radio dramas. Git some.

Love John Moffat as Poirot

Never thought I could listen to anyone other than David Suchet as Poirot but John Moffat is really great! This is one of the best Poirot novels - love the fact that Christie broke all the rules when she wrote this. Well adapted by the BBC :)

A good way to wile away time

A typical Agatha Christie but short and well narrated. Story is a bit typical with the famouse Agatha Christie confrontation at the end
