Great stories

Really good series to listen to. I liked the Poirot stories, but I liked the longer stories as well. Although it is obvious that the Poirot character is based on Sherlock Holmes and the sidekick Capt Hastings based on Dr. Watson. Even the way Capt Hasting doesn't understand of figure out certain things and then Poirot chastised him for it, is straight out of Sherlock Holmes treatment of Dr. Watson. Buts still good stories.

Narration was excellent

The narrator brought the stories to life. The many stories enabled me many breaks, a blessing for such a long book.

Good collection

Good collection of Agatha Christie stories. I liked that there were some longer novels and then short stories that I had never read before. The person reading did a good job.

Great Stories, Deeply Flawed Narration

Agatha Christie's classic stories would be a delight to hear if the narrator had done his homework and learned how to pronounce the many French (and some English) words Christie uses. The mispronounciations are egregious--not simply an inability to speak French, but a massacre of the language. Emphasis is placed on the wrong syllables, consonants are pronounced when they should not be, and vowels are not at all close to their true sound (ee instead of eye, for example). Also, there is no language in which "denouement" is pronounced "day-NWA-mant."

Had the narrator simply written out and spoken a phonetic version of these words, the narration would have been excellent. The narrator flawlessly creates and maintains the different voices of the characters. While the occasional American accent is unconvincing to the American ear, it does reflect the Christe-era British perception of that accent, so it works well in context. The narrator's voice is pleasant to hear and easy to understand. When the main character is Belgian and frequently uses French words, however, it's inexcusable for a narrator not to have learned at least an approximate pronunciation of those words. Grades: stories, A; narration, D.

Great! Narration is superb!

Narration is really top notched, so easy to follow and understand! I’ve tried to listen to the same novels by other narrators but couldn’t really get them, would loose a track on what’s going on. But this narrator uses proper intonations and emphasis, making it easy to follow and understand! (I’m a non-native speaker with dyslexia, so it means a lot). It’s sad to see other people complaining about his French: are those the same people who refuses to brush up their English accent and fix pronunciation mistakes because their foreign accent is “cute and part of their identity”? Now the tables have turned, and if you want a book in proper French, listen it in French then. For an English book his French is superb (btw there are just like 0.5% French words of the overall book). Also, navigating wasn’t really hard for me, especially through the novels. So, this book is worth much more than $1. I hope there would be more collections of this kind. Would love to buy a similar collection of Miss Marple mysteries. Excuse my grammar, but I hope my review would be helpful.

It was great story as Agatha Christie's always are. The narration was good but the book was poorly organized
Overall it was great especially for the price
