Publisher's summary

The Myth of White Fragility is the first book in a new series, Freedom Manuals — Defeating the Social(ist) Justice Mob, by President of Security Studies Group and Special Forces veteran Jim Hanson.

It’s a departure from his previous work which largely focused on national security and included the book Cut Down the Black Flag — A Plan to Defeat ISIS. But as Jim noted, “The greatest danger America faces right now are the socialist forces of wokeness and their social justice shock troops.”

The first Freedom Manual takes aim at the book White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo, which is number one on the New York Times nonfiction paperback list after 97 weeks overall there. It is now the preferred weapon of the social justice movement for anti-racism training and that trend is bad for everyone.

White Fragility collects the worst ideas from academia and the activist Left all cobbled together in an incoherent attempt to brand all White people as racists, all American institutions as infected by systemic racism, and the country as a whole as a White Supremacist nation.

The Myth of White Fragility exposes the woman behind the curtain nature of this pernicious attempt to use these supposedly racist systems to socially engineer the White people who benefit unfairly from them.

Each Freedom Manual chapter starts with a straight talk Bottom Line Up Front explaining the fatal flaws of White Fragility in layman’s terms. Then moves to a detailed analysis and ammunition for arguments on the topics in The Deep Dive. Then ends with calls to action which give the listener substantive ways to get in the fray and help stop the Social(ist) Justice Mob from fundamentally transforming this country into a steaming hot mess of wokeness.

The Myth of White Fragility is a quick listen and each following FM will maintain that easily digestible length. Upcoming topics include: Preserving Free Speech, Stopping the Gun Grabbers, Fundamentally Transforming our Education System, and Climate Craziness.

Great approach to a controversial subject

Jim Hanson takes a difficult topic and breaks each chapter down two ways. First he gives a laymans terms description he calls the Bottom Line Up Front. It sounds a bit like one of your friends telling you about something they just happen to know very well. Then he does a Deep Dive which goes into to studies and research used in the anti-racism world and shows the flaws and lack of factual basis for them. This lets you have as much info as you want if you're looking to be well armed for an argument. But if it gets too academic, then click and you're on to Calls to Action which give you concrete ways to apply what you've learned and safety tips about what can happen when talking about a sensitive subject.

He is a good narrator and manages to make even the complicated parts interesting. Highly recommend it to school yourself on this.

Open minded people will want to read this....

As the title suggests, this book is a response to Robin DiAngelo's best-selling book, "White Fragility." In my opinion, to be fair minded on this controversial topic of racism in America, a reader should read DiAngelo's book, then follow up by reading this book. Whether you lean left or lean right, it seems to me that we should all want to hear both sides. In this book, Hanson pulls no punches in countering the redefinitions of racism offered by Di Angelo. As Archimedes said, "Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand, and I will move the world." Hanson's point is that DiAngelo is trying to make HER definition of racism the accepted one and once that "place to stand," that "fulcrum" is accepted, she can change the world of how Americans perceive themselves and how the American system of government and culture is constructed. In short, if you buy DiAngelo's assumption that all whites are unavoidably "racist" by definition, i.e. just by being white; that the whole system of what she calls "white supremacy" is evil, then the only solution is to dismantle the system. Hanson points out her claim of "systemic racism" is false. He quite strenuously acknowledges and condemns individual racism, argues that institutional racism is largely illegal today, but insists there is little to no evidence for what DiAngelo claims is systemic racism. Her main argument he points out is that in our society there ARE "disparate outcomes." Blacks and other minority groups fall short in many categories. (Though some minority racial groups do not.) But he rightly points out that correlation is not necessarily causation. As a philosopher of science, I would qualify his claim on this point. Statistical Explanation (cf. Peter Achinstein), MAY actually be the best answer we can get to what causes something. But to make a claim of causal connection, one must subdivide the classes of things purported to be causes into the finest, purest (statistically most homogenous with respect to the effect to be explained) subsets possible. It seems to me that Hanson rightly points out that there are many many "finer" causal sets that correlate even more precisely with racially disparate outcomes in our society, than just "skin color." (Hanson gives many examples of this, including father-less homes, children out of wedlock, and lack of jobs.) It seems to me that he is right about this, and that DiAngelo's crucial "fulcrum" is NOT a sufficient "place to stand." If Hanson is right, then DiAngelo's reframing of the whole racial debate fails, and any use of her theory to justify dismantling our current social structures to replace them with state control rather than personal liberty is fundamentally pernicious. Hanson seems fair-minded in his strong condemnation of individual racism. And he agrees that disparate outcomes among racial groups is unfortunate, something to be changed. But he insists that the answer continues to be to fight for equal OPPORTUNITY, not equal OUTCOMES. To do otherwise is to embrace radical socialism, big government, and the Marxist principle "FROM each according to their ability, TO each according to their need." While that principle may actually be among the noblest of human, and certainly Christian ideals, one which individuals should pursue, one which even D'Touqueville applauded in America long ago, it is one thing to exhort individuals to rise to this nobility and another to coerce them to it. Given THAT choice, I would certainly prefer personal liberty to state totalitarianism. Any serious Christian will recognize that God's plan for humanity started with the gift of personal liberty. That's what got us into trouble! But it is apparently still at the heart of His plan for this world.

Aubio book is a smash hit!

Jim Hanson has written the essential book for our time. At a time where everything is racist and the grifters are getting rich convincing people that all of America's problems are because of race, Hason refutes them and gives us the tools to fight back!

The audio book is incredible, Just under 3 hours, this was perfect for the drive to my cabin. Hanson's speaking style is easy to listen to. It's both serious and good humored. He is able to convey the serious threat that White Fragility poses and still got some laughs out of me.

I recommend the audio book!

Informative and Entertaining!

This audiobook is great! I am so glad that Jim decided to read the book himself. His passion for combating the grifters and humor come through amazingly when he reads it.

The book is so quick too! In only 3 hours I was able to learn how to fight back against White Fragility preachers with facts and good humor. Absolute MUST listen for our times.

I can't wait for more Freedom Manuals!

Mimi

Loved the message of truth communicated in this read! The action points invaluable in countering the lefts sneaky disguise for forcing their socialist agenda on society. Really enjoyed the narrator's animation! No boring segments at all!

name calling, not a good way to make a point

Remove the name calling and the bugaboos referenced and you have less than the weight of a cotton ball. I was hoping for an interesting perspective on something I've heard about. It you want something interesting, there must be another author out there. There's five minutes of thoughts in the almost three hour book. Disappointed.

Falls short of potential..

The sound arguments were cheapen with unnecessary militant rhetoric and sarcastic tone for too important of a topic. perhaps I was not the intended audience as I was looking for information and resist a call to violent arms.

Right Concept, Inflammatory writing

I agree with the criticism of the logical errors in the arguments made in “White Fragility” but I do not think the war lingo or the name calling are problem solvers or peace makers. I say this as an active duty gun enthusiast. Feels like the author was afraid that he’d lose my attention. And maybe it is tailored to someone with less time or attention, but I do think a deeper and more helpful book that describes this issue is Disparities by Thomas Sowell. For the author, less time name calling, more time telling the number stories of your arguments.

Not a myth! Totally flawed argument from the beginning of mankind to maintain power and control at all costs.

Deep and self-protected purpose of power and control recognizing and understanding why one must attempt to negate an reflection of reality that they must deny to keep from facing the truth, as coined white fragility, meaning racial privilege protected at ALL Cost, including death!
Open your eyes. listen with your minds, feel with your hearts, and you will know deep on your soul what your intentions are and will always be, basically due to the nature of man!
