About this listen

For a decade, Angel Salvatore has been the most powerful sorcerer and only necromancer in all the Northeast. Never one to ask permission nor apologies, he has acted with near impunity for years.

The High Council of Sorcery has come to Boston, and Angel is their target. Charged with numerous violations of practitioner laws, his freedom and family are placed in jeopardy.

If found guilty, Angel's apprentice Daniel will be imprisoned to serve out the remaining years of his apprenticeship. Isaac, his brother, is too vulnerable to be left unguarded, and Angel fears for his sanity and health. And Simeon, Elder vampire and Angel's mate, refuses to see Angel convicted under the laws of the Council and his actions to keep Angel free threaten to start a war that could destroy their world. And Angel faces the severest of punishments - the castration of his gifts.

Dealing with an impending trial, a wayward ghost, and a grave-robbing ring of thieves leaves Angel on the edge. He thinks he may have a handle on things until violence erupts across the city, and a stranger comes to town...a stranger with his own dark powers of necromancy.

Contains mature themes.

loved this series

Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Were there any parts I found annoying: no
Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: in a heartbeat

I re-listened to Necromancer books 1 and 2 before this one and I've loved every minute of the all three. The world building is believable, the characters interesting and the pace of each book has been action packed and kept be completely absorbed the whole time. Necromancers Reckoning has had so much going on I've not wanted to put it down.

Joel Leslie does an epic narration of the whole series, really bringing the Beacon Hill world to life.

New challenges, enemies and creatures for Angel!

New challenges, enemies and creatures crowd this new chapter in the series.
Angel has to fight against the Council of Magic wanting to strip him of his powers and take his apprentice away, while also looking for a stolen ghost.
But while blows seem to come at him from every angle, he's as badass as always, and he has his mate, family, friends, and the cutest tiny dragon to help him in his endeavours to keep Boston safe!
I can't wait for the next instalment, which will be Isaac's tale.

Love this series

Highly recommend. These are some of my favorite characters and storylines. I'm on third listen... Joel Leslie is amazing narrator.

Only complaint, really, is 'bundle of nerves' but that fanfic perpetuated travesty seems to be here to stay...

Solid storytelling

This series is good. It is about the characters and their story. It’s not just fluff or sex scenes! Thank you very much. I want to read a great mm story and those are not always easy to find. But this fits the bill. I hope the rest of the series builds and is quality work!

Fantastic narration as always Joel Leslie!

Fantastic

The stories in this series are amazing. This story brings in a ruling body of magic practitioners and they are out for blood. As always, our hero couple find themselves in a bind. It takes a bit of Fae magic, high ranking vampires, death magic, giant dragon hearted protection, a few undead, a magical duel and the newly realized mate bond magics to solve the problem. The pace of this story kept me on my toes. Joel Leslie’s penchant for perfect inflection, emotions, and beautiful voice acting, and the depth of love between the bonded pair made this a gorgeous story. I highly recommend this series and book, and guarantee that you will love the audiobook version.
