About this listen

From “The King of Christmas”, Richard Paul Evans, the next exciting holiday-themed novel in his New York Times best-selling The Noel Collection.

Sally Walther feels like her world is imploding. Publicly humiliated after her husband, a local councilman, is arrested for bigamy, and her subsequent divorce, she has isolated herself from the world. When her only friend insists that Sally climb out of her hole and embrace the season to get her out of her funk, Sally decides to put up a Christmas tree and heads off to buy one - albeit reluctantly. She is immediately taken by Andrew, the kind, handsome man who owns the Christmas tree lot and delivers her tree. She soon learns Andrew is single and new to her city and, like her, is also starting his life anew.

As their friendship develops, Sally slowly begins to trust again - something she never thought possible. Then, just when she thinks she has finally found happiness, she discovers a dark secret from Andrew’s past. Is there more to this stranger’s truth than meets the eye?

This powerful new holiday novel from Richard Paul Evans, the “King of Christmas fiction” (The New York Times), explores the true power of the season, redemption, and the freedom that comes from forgiveness.

Great Story, Narrator seemed bored

Very powerful story. Narrator would drawl. Came across as she was bored with the story.

Another good read

I always enjoy Mr. Evans stories. They are usually predictable, but still hold my attention. This one has an unexpected twist so added to my enjoyment. A good, light read for the Holidays.

Enjoyable, but...

Easy, enjoyable, feel-good story for listening during the Christmas season. I didn’t care for the narration, however. While narrating for the female main character, I found the narrator’s style to be somewhat whiny. A small distraction, I suppose, in the overall scheme.

Interesting Plot but not my favorite Evans Book

I am a big fan of R.P.Evans...I have read everything by him except the McVey Series. However I was a little disappointed in this book. The plot was different and interesting but I did not like the over the top descriptions of the ultra rich lifestyle. Too much luxury and high end dining. I found it annoying and pretentious. I really enjoy his "down to earth " regular characters so
It was hard for me to relate to the indulgence of a "Spa Day" and the delivery of food to the poor. The stark difference made
.the characters seem selfish , ostentatious, and unlikable.
The narration was good. I hope his next Christmas Book will not use the same ultra rich details in the plot.

I hope there is a movie in the works on this one. You can't put it down for long. Plan not to get much else done until you finish it.
