She is perfection! It is as though you are actually there seeing and hearing the action! Only gripe…her books never last long enough!

Awesome

This is one of my favorite Heyer books, and the reader does not disappoint. Subtle, but delightful!

Worth listening to multiple times

Excellent narrator adds greatly to this gently humorous story. Despite a slow beginning, by the middle it's enjoyable to hope the appallingly selfish beauty with her temper tantrums will get her comeuppance!

Excellent narrator, enjoyable story

A wonderful performance and a delightful story, you won't be disappointed. Such characters! I'm so glad I have this recording.

One of Heyer's best!

This is one of the later books Heyer wrote. Although all the Regency romances are well done, this is a particularly good one. The characters are well developed as a protagonists varied. Very enjoyable!

Charming and fun

Worth purchasing this version, after listening to prior version w female narrator. I wasn’t sure if a male narrator could pull it off, but he was much easier to tolerate- and I caught several things I’d missed in the other Audible version of this book. A very enjoyable listen to Ms Heyer’s The Nonesuch.

Happily surprised w narrator

I’ve read the book but this time I went for Audible. Excellent reader, who made it much more fun and in the Heyer spirit. This is, alas, not her best plot. Her usual characters, the pretty children, the more mature couple at odds, are well drawn but the plot was weak. I still enjoyed it but it was the reader who carried me through.

Not my favorite

I really enjoyed the character development and the twists and turns off the story. The villains were great!

Very enjoyable

Loved GH’s main characters in this fun, lighthearted Regency Romance. I think if you like Pride and Prejudice, you will like this one, too.

Excellent fun!
