Critic reviews

"One of my perennial comfort authors. Heyer's books are as incisively witty and quietly subversive as any of Jane Austen's." (Joanne Harris)

"Fabulously witty." (Stephen Fry)

"Once you step into her world, you won't look back." (Katie Fforde)

Masterful interpretation

The first georgette heyer book I ever read was Regency Buck when I was a teen. I relished this story once again. The narrator was wonderful. The story is so charming. Bravo. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Georgette Heyer was always a favourite but I must say , I really and truly enjoyed the experience of having it read out to me. Penguin and the narrator have done a great job

One of the best of Ms Heyer

I loved the narration of this novel. What a great job she did for all characters. This is one of the best.

Very lovely narration

There were a pronounced name or two that were different than in other Heyer novel productions but overall delightful.

An entertaining blend of romance and mystery

Regency Buck is a unique blend of Georgette Heyer’s classic Regency Romance Novels & her lesser known Mystery Novels. The story begins with her usual strong willed Beauty vs arrogant aristocratic Rake; but then adds both a gentleman of good morals and a dangerous murder attempt.
The narrator is a gifted voice actress, whos performance of both Lords & Ladies, as well as the “commoners” is excellent!
All in All, one of the best of the Heyer audiobooks!

Pride and Prejudice fan fic

This is a play on P&P- including direct quotes from the novel. It’s a remix for sure, but go in knowing that and it will annoy you less. I wonder if GH thought her audience hadn’t read Austen or if we are supposed to be in on the ‘homage’.

Very Entertaining!

I don't know how Georgette Heyer never made it onto my radar before, so this was my first introduction. How utterly delightful! I couldn't stop listening and finished in a couple of days. The narration was very good overall. However, there were some questionable pronunciation choices. Occasionally I had difficulty determining which character was speaking, but with so many, it certainly can't be easy to perform. Now, onto my next Georgette Heyer listen...

not her best

Not the best narration. Voice for Earl of Worth was not good. Others were ok.
