Blood and Bankers
Dane Kramer looks forward to the day when his sprawling Oklahoma cattle ranch will truly be his - no strings attached. With only one more bank payment to make and a buyer in Omaha ready to pay top dollar for a herd of Herefords, he should finally have the banker, Earl Throckmorton, off his back. But Earl has a plan to keep the ranch for himself, and if he has his way, Dane's herd will never make it across the Omaha Trail - and Dane won't make it home alive.
Up against Earl's hired gang of outlaws, Dane must do whatever it takes to bring in the herd - but Earl has more than one trick up his sleeve. Planting one of his own men in Dane's newly hired team of cowhands could be just the insurance he needs.

Dane Kramer almost has his Oklahoma cattle ranch paid off. A buyer in Omaha will buy his current herd of cattle and this will provide funds for the last bank payment. The banker Earl Throckmorton wants the ranch for himself and sets plans into action to stop the herd from reaching Omaha.
The book is well written and the pace is fairly fast. The story contains lots of good old fashion action on the cattle drive. We get to know the drovers and the country they are crossing on their way to Nebraska from Oklahoma. I find reading a western is a great way to relax and get away from it all by stepping back into the rough and tumble west of yore.
Corey M. Snow does a great job narrating the story. Snow is from Olympia, Washington and is a full time audiobook narrator; he works for a number of top audiobook publishing companies. Not many of the narrators work full time narrating audio books; most are stage actors who narrator between acting jobs. I am going to keep my eye out for more books that he has narrated. I usually follow the author but I do have a few narrators that I follow and that has opened up a wider variety of books to choose from.
