About this listen

Henry

Packs equals pain. That was drilled into me since I was a child, and honestly, I’m glad to be rid of mine. I’ve lived the life of a lone wolf for years, writing my way into enough rent and grocery money to live all over the country...albeit in as many backwoods, out of the way places as I can find.

I didn’t come to Gypsum thinking it would be anything special. After all, I didn’t want to find my alpha. I just needed to finish my next book. But with trouble brewing in town and my muse deserting me when I need it most, an unexpected connection with Jim might be my lifeline...or my undoing.

Jim

I’m only in my 20s, but I’ve got empty nest syndrome - hard. With both of my brothers wrapped up in their own lives, I feel like I’ve been left at loose ends. And losing my job hasn’t exactly helped in the "get out and keep myself busy" department, either.

A chance meeting with Henry is enough to prove how captivating an older omega can be. Getting to work with him as an assistant is enough to keep me on my toes. But finding out he’s my mate? That’s a twist I never expected.

It’s clear that Henry is running from his past. I can only try to be the safe place he can land. But with hunters combing our woods and out of control alphas drawing attention to themselves, I’m afraid that safety and Gypsum might not be synonymous any longer....

The Omega’s Muse is a mpreg shifter audiobook featuring an eager alpha, a disgruntled omega, and one guaranteed happy ending. Each audiobook in the Gypsum series can be listened to in any order.

Another Fine Book for this Shifter Series

This third installment of the Wolves of Gypsum series is another great story. The concern of illegal hunters in the area is a carry over from Book 2, and continues to face that challenge.

Jim, a local alpha, lost his job and is looking for work. Henry, an author who has a difficult time meeting his deadlines, needs an assistant. These two characters have nothing in common. How can they work together? It's pretty amusing.

Between the MC's trying to live their lives, there are real problems facing the town of Gypsum. Leaning heavily on human tourism, anything dark, dangerous, and wolfish needs to be kept under control. Not so easy when opposing political factions don't necessarily have the town's best interests at heart.

Narrator Zachary Zaba has a great voice for shifters... low and kinda growly. He's fun to listen to, and adds major characteristics to the story.

Love the story

I love the story. It’s never easy to leave your comfort zone but this story shows that good things can happen when we’re brave enough to try new things and meet new people. While the narrator did an overall good job, there were times that his voice seemed to become monotonous with little emotion. I enjoyed the story so much though that I’ll still listen to it again.

Meant to be together

I found The Omega’s Muse to be so sweet. Henry and Jim are definitely made for each other, but are often at cross purposes. Henry has supported himself as a writer for many years. He ran away from his pack years ago and never wants to go back. He has lost his inspiration and is terrified he might have to go back. Jim is a young man who very much wants his own family. Jim needs a job. A chance meeting with Henry provides that. Jim becomes a great inspiration for Henry. They grow close and realize that they are fated mates. Jim embraces this, but Henry is afraid. Henry pushes Jim away. Once again, he tries to go it alone. Without each other, Henry and Jim are lost. There are conflicts in Gypsum with hunters. Henry’s editor is breathing down his neck about finishing his latest book. Listen to this story and rejoice for Henry and Jim. Zachary Zaba brought the story to life for me. Preston, I loved the latest in the Gypsum saga.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Finding more than just love

This is a wonderful story about Henry an older omgea trying to finish his latest book and Jim a twenty something alpha in need of a job. Henry hires Jim as his assistant and not only does Henry finish his book but he finds his fated mate and a pack family where he belongs.
Narrator Zachary Zaba has a beautiful voice but his narration would've been better if there was some vocal differences between the characters.
