"The longing to be with her."

Not really stories at all, The Palace of Winds contains twenty mins heartfelt meditations on love, almost all from a males perspective - love longed for, enjoyed, lost - often combined with a sense of guilt, of futility, loneliness and sadness. The exceptions are Black Iris (5) and He and I (28), more contemplative over lost love, but both from a female viewpoint. Each brief vignette is well crafted, sometimes thought provoking, always sad. Each felt true, emotions experienced, the longings beautiful though it woul have been pleasant to have included at least a single contemplation of love found, reciprocated and sustained. But perhaps the author cannot feel this possibikity.
Narration was by Craig Randall Nickerson, who read with sensitivity, his performance nicely paced with good intonation despite the underlying sadness. He was a fine choice to carry this work.

My thanks to the rights holder who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. It was unexpected, musings, it seemed, of a man lonley after the loss of his own romantic asperations, and should appeal to all who have loved and lost.

Sad narratives of love

This a sad, yet relatable (for most of us), collection of narratives of various unrequited, lost, longing, or dying loves. A bit depressing and not at all what I was in the mood for, but a decent collection nonetheless.

Shorts and Sweets!

A wonderful collection of short stories! Great stories, great performances! I love short stories and much prefer them to long and dragged out books. Highly recommend!

Amazing heartfelt stories

This book has amazing stories of love, rejection, joy, friendship, and unrequited love. The stories feel like they come from the heart and true experiences. I must admit these stories hit me yards because it brought back my life experiences that I thought I had overcome. The stores are well written and I must say that this book is unlike anything that I have read before. It feels real, blunt and to the point. I highly recommend this book. I received this audio book upon my request. I am leaving this honest review of my own volition.

Thoughts on lost love

The author writes very good books but these short stories didn't grab me much. Some interesting emotions expressed and I did like some of the stories.

Interesting!

The Author has a unique way of melding Victorian and Modern Day writing style. The storyline has interesting twists and turns. I know the title infers multistories. Maybe that was the intent... But I kinda took it as a single story with surprises. Several times, I thought I knew where the story was headed, but then it had a complete twist. I enjoyed the story...
