About this listen

"The Pilgrim'S Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come; Delivered under the Similitude of a Dream" is a 1678 Christian allegory written by John Bunyan. It is regarded as one of the most significant works of religious English literature, has been translated into more than 200 languages, and has never been out of print. The protagonist is an everyman character, and the plot centers on his journey from his hometown, the "City of Destruction" ("this world"), to the "Celestial City" ("that which is to come": Heaven). Christian is weighed down by a great burden - the knowledge of his sin - which he believed came from his reading "the book in his hand" (the Bible). Christian finally reaches the "place of deliverance" (allegorically, the cross of Calvary and the open sepulcher of Christ), where the "straps" that bound Christian's burden to him break, and it rolls away into the open sepulcher. The rest follows his adventures through life until he reaches heaven.©2017 Audioliterature (P)2017 Audioliterature Christianity

I already opened another Audible version of this classic by Bunyan. When I saw this one and that Ella Porter was the narrator, I knew it would be very good. I own a Spurgeon book..... All of Grace which Ella Porter narrates and love it was well. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that's looking for an Audible version of The Pilgrim's Progress

Love the Book, love the narrator

Hard to follow at times and often had to back it up more than once to find the meaning and sometimes still didn’t get it until a few sentences later. Just keep going and as you do it all comes together. Don’t let my inability to understand deter you from listening to this, I’m no scholar. We all have our own “pilgrimage” to our ultimate destiny..our own unique struggles and our helpers, and His provisions are always sufficient for our particular needs. Great story!! God bless.

Be ready to rewind at times....
