About this listen

When Bobby Pendragon first arrives on the tropical world of Ibara, he finds paradise. As he works to uncover clues about the turning point this seemingly idyllic territory will soon face, all he can determine is that the people of Ibara are blissfully happy. It's not long before Bobby discovers, however, that they are also blissfully...oblivious.

The leaders of Ibara are keeping a devastating secret from their people, one that gives Saint Dane all the opportunity he needs to launch his final assault on Halla.

While Bobby struggles to learn the truth in time to thwart Saint Dane, Courtney Chetwynde desperately searches for Mark Dimond. On the heels of a shocking tragedy, Mark has disappeared. Worse, he seems to be under Saint Dane's influence. It's up to Courtney to find Mark and stop him from making a grave mistake that could change the future of all existence.

Excellent!

I love the Pendragon series, I could probably read it a thousand times over and I still wouldn't be tired of it. My only complaint would be Mr. Dufris' continuity errors in pronunciation. In the previous book, he pronounced "Ibara" as "eye-bar-a" and in this he pronounces it, "ih-bar-a", as in a short "I" and not a long one. Also, he pronounces "dados" as "day-doughs" in this book and "daa-doughs" in the previous. It wouldn't have been a big deal except for each book had a pronunciation I like and one I didn't like. Drove me crazy at first. Again, I know I'm being a stickler, but that's my only complaint, well, other than how he pronounces, "lived" it's the past participle of "to live" not some weird addition to the adjective "live".

Amazing series of books!

Great series of books, I love them! I feel like some of the plot can be weak at times but overall I like it a lot. The reader of this audio book was kind of corny, but I got used to it. Over all a great audio book!

Stupendous!

In some ways this one felt similar to Black Water. Bobby struggles again with following the rules of being a Traveler versus Saint Danes rules. This one wrapped up very nicely though but there's this feeling that not everything is the way it seems. Which is exactly how Saint Dane does things.

This storyline is really amazing, but with the time of the mystery freaking awesome! I recommend this book!

Action packed

Really enjoyed this book as things come together. Looking forward to finishing the series. Started in my youth and is now a great casual listen between my commute or chores.

The beginning of the end Indeed

As a teenager this series was one of my favorites, I loved reading each book as it came out and following Bobby and the gang through each territory. That is until the Pilgrims of Rayne. There are so many plot holes and negative character changes in this one book alone that they set my teeth to grinding! I always loved Mark and I can get that he was fooled and seeing his parents saved has his vision a bit on the skewed side. Yet for the last three books in the series he becomes an idiot.
As for Courtney, the author made her into an absolute imbicile.. She literally just got a journal from Bobby as soon as she got on the boat which told her to stop Mark at all cost. It even explained a bit as to why he needed stopped. So when she finally gets to talk to him and she gets to the part where she says she wished that she had his journals to show him all I can barely hold back my frustration with the forced plot development. "Oh hey Mark I got this journal when I got on the ship as well as a few others stashed at the bank from Bobby which act as proof that I need to stop you. I may or may not have it on me as the author didn't specify at this point in the story where it went. but if I stashed it, or the guards took it I could have let you know so you could get it... But I think I'm gonna not tell you about it, instead ima just gonna let you help destroy Halla. So that the story can be forced down a path that the author wanted to go regardless of how easy it would be to convince you otherwise by letting you read the journal which is very specific about the consequences of not stopping"
Then comes Bobby.... Any and all lessons learned and character growth he has gone through from the previous seven books get thrown out of the window in his near single minded obsession.
Overall the series ended for me with Quillian
