A Wonderful Summary of the War of Independance

Every person subjected to the destructive public education system in the USA should read or listen to this book. It accurately summarizes the foundation of the United States of America and the struggle to gain a country where everyone has an "Equal" chance to pursue success. Not the guarantee of that success. Hopefully eyes will be opened and further investigation on the part of those individuals would institute an appreciation for this country. Perhaps we might be able to keep it.

Facts are stranger than fiction sometimes

I think Americans look at their revolution through 'rose coloured glasses'. Their entertainment history is so out of whack with actual history you have to wonder if Disney created it. As with all good stories, it is neither simple or clear cut and this book covers that. According to this history, only the British troops really come off with any honour but I am sure there was incidents not reported of misconduct. War is hell and it tends to bring out the worse and the best in people that both the loyalist and patriots shared in these. A war that could have been stopped at anytime, and as most conflicts are, based on a lie to start with. I suppose one of the great tragedies of history.

I'm In!

If this is really Politically Incorrect, then count me in!

I loved the way each chapter proved a scorecard of the key leaders. I felt the scoring was very fair.

I also appreciated the recommended reading in theme of the event. Although a bit more difficult in its Audible format, I will revisit some of these chapters and be sure I retrieve the book recommendations. I want to learn more on some of these events and the suggested reading is much appreciated.

Being interested in our history, many of the events were familiar and I enjoyed hearing the author's prospective.

But the greatest walk away is the narrative that America was successful b/c the colonists were used to self governing. It breaks my heart we have instated so many public programs we appear to be feeding folks instead of teaching how to fish.

I think our Patriots would be disappointed in this.

The Patriots were some tough people and its so nice to have bonded with England after our breakaway. Like a lot of divorces, sometimes you best serve your surroundings being apart.

God bless the folks who fought for my freedom!

If you like history this will be a fun. book.

Fun book in that it notes a lot of details often overlooked by general history learners. if you enjoy history it may not be necessarily new information but does put a lot in order and perspective.

Guess what?

A fine overview of the American Revolution and highly recommended for people who want an in depth account without listening to longer audiobooks. It covers the conflict from start to finish with breakdowns of major battles and events providing a concluding rating system that allows one to truly understand the outcomes.

Should be required by all schools

Highly recommend to anyone who cares about our country’s history - that is being taught less & less, often distorting the truth.

Unique Perspective of the American Revolution

This book provides a detailed yet concise history of the American Revolution. Many facts that I was unaware of in an entertaining and straightforward narrative. It also provides many other sources on related material.
A rather quick read and very enjoyable for American history enthusiasts.
