Buy it for the narrator’s performance

I enjoyed this short escape, but I must say that, from the reviews, I was expecting something more. I don’t find it truly frightening at all. It was a nice diversion from life, yes. But not true “horror.”
The narrator MADE THIS BOOK! He seemed a bit childish at first (which is as it should be) and his voice became deeper and stronger as the story unfolded. An A++!!!
Wrapping up, I’ll say it’s a good book because of the narrator and the choice to use him was perfect!
I am a true fan of Mr Wright and always will be, but this is not his best.

Superb scare….well written creepy horror… narrator made it even more so.
It’s always great to come across one like this.

GREAT READ!!!!

Absolutely Loved this book! Don’t let the cover fool you (it looks “dated”). This book was GOOD! Not too scary (IMO), but just enough to make you think.

Brilliantly terrifying

I could not stop listening to this story. Stayed up too late to listen through and had a bit of trouble falling asleep. And I left my room only after carefully looking down the hall...

Gripping and Scary

Very well told horror story. I loved the main character and was rooting for the little guy and his family. The narrator nailed it!
