About this listen

Born to a death sentence in a near-future America, rebellious sisters herald a revolution - if they can survive.

Twins Ava and Mira Goodwin defy the Rule of One simply by existing. The single-child law, ruthlessly enforced by Texas’s Governor Roth, has made the sisters famous fugitives and inspirations for the resurgent rebellion known as the Common.

But the relentless governor and his implacable Texas State Guard threaten that fragile hope, as Roth consolidates his power in a bid for ultimate authority.

As Ava and Mira relinquish the relative safety of their Canadian haven to stand against Roth, new allies arise: Owen, a gifted young programmer, impulsively abandons his comfortable life in a moment of compassion, while Zee, an abused labor camp escapee, finds new purpose in resistance.

The four will converge on Dallas for a reckoning with Roth, with nothing less than their destinies - and the promise of a future free from oppression - on the line.

Disobedience means death. But a life worth living demands rebellion.

Can't wait for more!

Picking up where The Rule of One leaves off, The Rule of Many is action packed and full of obstacles. The story moves quickly, alternating between multiple points of view, revealing many pieces of the puzzle that left the reader wondering from the previous book. Unfortunately, I hadn't realized this story wasn't going to be wrapped up via this novel, so I was bummed when the book came to an end and nothing was resolved. I need more!

All three narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life.

Almost perfect

This is one of many few books where I'm glad there is a third one. Wrapping it up at 2 would have been too much so I'm glad that didn't happen. The story continues to be entertaining and captivating! Loved the introduction of Alexander and Theo...but my 4 star rating is due to Owen. I found him extremely obnoxious and kind of there for unnecessary comic relief. I sped through his chapters because I really had zero interest in him so here's hoping there's less of him ahead. The audible voice did NOT help this in any way.

Great read

The Rule of Many by Ashley & Leslie Saunders is my second read from these authors as well as being the follow-up book in the young adult dystopian series The Rule of Many. I'm a big fan of dystopian novels. There's something I really enjoy about a story with characters trying to survive in a world that's moved on. But I don't restrict myself to a particular genre. I'm a sucker for anything with memorable characters and a story that keeps me guessing. After getting the first book in an Audible Daily Deal I bought for $2.95, the book was so good I just went out & bought the sequel! The second book has more of everything, more drama, more suspense, more great characters, even more narrators. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Ready for next Rule

I am enjoying this story line and these characters. Some of it is cliche but still very entertaining. Ready for book 3 already.

Great reading, I enjoyed it very much,

Hoping America doesn't do what China does with the one child policy. This book is closer to reality than some may think.

Owen ruined it for me

The first book was much better. I dreaded Every time a chapter was from Owen's point of view. He got better throughout the book but he took away from the whole experience.

Loved it and on to the next one! There were moments something's just felt they were too realistic.
