About this listen

Calypso, queen of the seas, is mad. Spitting mad. Ghosts of the dead are fouling her waters. She wants this problem fixed, and she wants it fixed now. Rushing off in search of Hades, lord of the underworld, to demand answers, she's soon shocked to discover him bound and standing trial before a jury of his peers - for nothing less than murder.

Calypso normally despises the beastly gods, all of them, but there's something about seeing Hades bound as he is that gives her an evilly clever idea. Tired of being a virgin queen, she wishes to shed that boring image once and for all, and no one seems quite as fit for the task as the gorgeous and brooding Hades. Of course, there is the minor problem of murder to deal with, but Calypso is bound and determined to have her way.

And when a dark queen gets an idea, nothing and no one can stand in her way....

GREAT!

What did you love best about The Sea Queen?

What I loved the most about The Sea Queen were the two personalities of the two main characters, Calypso & Hades. The interactions between the two went from serious, funny & down right sexy!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sea Queen?

I loved when Calypso would go and visit (in another form) her son & daughter in law.

Any additional comments?

I just wanted to add that I received this free from the author in return for an honest review. I did read the digital book version as well. It is an impossibly fantastic story. This audio copy was very good. The narrator reading the story did use appropriate intonations & delivered on changing her voice slightly when a character other than Calypso was talking as the story is told from her point of view.

Excellent story with pleasant narration

If you could sum up The Sea Queen in three words, what would they be?

Sexy, fun, and honest

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sea Queen?

When Calypso all but makes a stubborn god kneel and apologize.

What does Shiromi Arserio bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her vocal inflections and rendition of some of the character voices was interesting to hear.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This absolutely was something I was not able to turn off.

Any additional comments?

Though the narrators' accent interfered with some words coming across as intended, her voice was pleasant to listen to and suitable for the medium. The story was fantastic and listening to it as read by another was interesting, and enabled me to listen to one of my favorite stories as I did projects around my house where I normally would not be able to read.

Just as good as the digital version..if not better

Before we get started let me just say that I was given the audio version of this book for free, for an honest review. So let's start:
First off this was my first audio book ever. Didn't know what to expect. And I have also read the digital version of this book. And when you're reading a book to yourself you imagine what they sound like, in your head. Actually hearing a voice bring a story to life was a new concept. With that being said I was thrown off for the first couple of chapters because I didn't imagine Calypso sounding/having the voice that Arserio provided.
However, as I passed chapter 4, was when I realized that it was just me and my mindset and I really started to enjoy the sea queen once again. Arserio would change or alter her voice for the different characters and I could see/hear Calypso changing from a questionable tone to sassy don't mess with me tone. I found myself laughing and really enjoying the sea queen from a different perspective.
Was the sea queen a great book: Yes
Was the sea queen a great audio book: HECK YES
Would I recommend this book: DUH!!
Grab this book in audio or digital form because Jovee Winters is a wrting genius and will make you love dairy tales all over again ❤❤❤
