Publisher's summary
With a foreword by best-selling author Richard E. Simmons III.
His hunger for more is all-consuming. Will his drive for insatiable ambition finally be the end of him?
Nolan Banks is a man untethered. Despite his incredible prestige, wealth, and adoring family, this prominent real estate mogul wrestles with an inner void he cannot satisfy. On the precipice of a grave error, he reluctantly agrees to a mysterious invitation that promises life-altering consequences.
Transported to a bewildering, isolated homestead, Nolan faces a trio of enigmatic hosts resolved to guide him on a life-changing odyssey...if he can survive the challenging trials. But while grappling with increasingly difficult emotional, spiritual, and physical hurdles, dark temptations threaten to break him as he battles against the devil inside.
Will Nolan overcome the trials and obtain what he needs to live in true freedom?
In a brutally honest and introspective look into the hidden recesses of a man’s heart, Brett Snodgrass reveals the perils of self-destruction, while offering a hopeful path to redemption. By portraying unforgettable characters as metaphors of the Trinity in this expedition into the human soul, listeners are provided an inspirational glimpse into the regenerative power of God.
The Secret War Within is a profound Christian fiction novel. If you like redemption, unflinching portrayals that deeply stir, and unearthing fervor through the divine, then Brett Snodgrass's introspective quest will captivate your heart.

Story
In his first novel, A Happy Death, written when he was in his early 20s and retrieved from his private papers following his death in 1960, Albert Camus laid the foundation for The Stranger, focusing in both works on an Algerian clerk who kills a man in cold blood. But he also revealed himself to an extent that he never would in his later fiction. For if A Happy Death is the study of a rule-bound being shattering the fetters of his existence, it is also a remarkably candid portrait of its author as a young man.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Story
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

Modern Day Acceptance of Christ
If you've gotten to this review, please purchase this book either for yourself or a loved one. You won't regret it. The audio version is of high quality, but it's the message that stands out. Certain aspects of this book really spoke out to me. While other aspects resonated with people in my life. After finishing the audio version, I purchased the actual book to gift a friend.

Heart Changing
A great allegory that will impact men profoundly even of they are already believers. I have been a Christian for over 30 years and I was still moved beyond expectations. Beautifully explaining the pursuit of God in the lives of His creation. Well done

A great first start for Brett Snodgrass as an author
I was super stoked about the sound of this book, like a modern day “pilgrims progress”. The first part of the book is gritty and intense and you can just feel the trap that the character has set for himself. However, that’s the last part of the book that gets the level of detail the story deserves. The rest is glossed over in short descriptions of giant events, and is hard to track. At some point the main character dies and is resurrected (that’s not a spoiler, you knew this was a Christian allegory) and even though I reminded and listened to it twice I still don’t get what happened.
Keep writing Brett, this is a good start!
