About this listen

A lifelong legacy. A strange ability. A haunted island.

Daisy’s heart breaks when Greg Bregoli, head of Bregoli Publishing, passes away four years after she became a member of the Bregoli family. Then she learns that Greg has left everything - the business, the island, and the Bregoli Estate - to her. Competition leans in from all sides, but none so daunting as Byron Barnett, Daisy’s previous boss. Meanwhile, Daisy communes with a new spirit in the Bregoli Estate, convinced it’s Greg, but the spirit soon reveals harmful motives.

The Haunting of Calhoun Mansion

Three murders. One night. No convictions. Nicole Harper, a hospice nurse with a floundering marriage, is assigned a new patient in the remote Northwestern wilderness. But when Nic meets her new patient, she discovers the old woman's family history is as troubling as her medical condition.

How old is OLD?

I loved the first book, it was the right pace and although predictable at times it was still an enjoyable listen. I liked the second story until it got to the point where I did the math… she was young when her family was killed but 30 years later she’s OLD AND FRAIL? I’m 45 folks, not old, senile, or frail. Don’t figure out the math on it and it’s an okay story.

Well done.

Excellent narration. The stories by the author are always interesting and intriguing. When she inherited she also got a ghost was he a friendly one. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

DNF

I admit that I did not finish this book, but I just couldn't get past all of the 'poor, poor me' whining from the very start. The main character is apparently the best author in the world, outselling Stephen King's latest novel and invited to be a mentor at an exclusive writer's retreat after writing one series and one stand alone novel which is now being made into a movie, yet all she does is whine and feel sorry for herself and complain that she isn't good enough. Oh, and after earning all that money from her books, all she has ever bought is a few clothes and some cat toys! Maybe I will give it another try at some other time, but I get so tired of all the self-pitying women or those whose parents are all abusive and addicts and abandoned them or right-wing militia as bad guys. I'll continue my search for something with a little originality and less of the same old trite tropes. The narration was stellar, by the way!
