'Unputdownable...a high-octane, emotional page-turner' Louise Douglas

Does a killer’s blood run in the family?

Lexi Jakes thought she could run from her past…she was wrong.

Because when her biological mother is found dead, with all the same hallmarks of her own serial killer father, Lexi knows someone is out for revenge, and that she and her small daughter, Isla, could be next.

Determined to protect Isla, Lexi travels back to Lindisfarne, the small remote island where she grew up. There, cut off from the mainland, Lexi hopes they'll both be safe.

But as the tide comes in and the causeway slowly closes, Lexi’s greatest fear comes true: now they are trapped with no way out.

Lexi will do anything to save her daughter…she is the serial killer's girl after all.

Great for long car rides

The voices of the young daughter is enough to make you delete the title however you want to know how we got here and how we move forward… even if the mom makes you mad!!! Couldn’t wait to get back in the car to listen what happened next!!!

Spell binding!

Imagine being the daughter of a serial killer…and having to keep that secret from early childhood. Then one day your quiet world is shattered…this is where Lexi finds herself. Now the mother of a precocious 2yo, Lexi’s world is turned upside down when her biological mother is murdered in the same manner as her father’s victims. Now it appears that someone is out for revenge. Lexi must find a way to protect her daughter and that means returning to her past. Can that keep them safe? Thrilling story.

hardly worth the read

i listened to the whole book, hoping it might improve, but was truly disappointed. i couldn't find one character that you could grow to like, they were all dull and uninteresting. The story was boring and predictable. I cannot recommend.

Put me to bed

I’m a avid Audio book listener. If I didn’t use a credit for this book I would’ve “marked as finished “. The entire book shouldn’t have been more than 1 hour. The plot was so slow and all over the place for no reason. And the worst character was the voice of the two year old girl. I love kids, but maybe she should’ve been one year old and not talking.

It could have been a good story

The premise was good but the other reviewers were right- this dragged on and on. The mother was the most annoying, she’s a whimpering, simpering crybaby. She drove me nuts, who would be such a wet rag?

Slow

Very slow. Started good for first 10 mins. Nothing really pushed forward. The description sounds like it wiould be thrilling but wasn’t stimulating. Kept waiting for them to get to it, but it never came. More of the feelings and emotions the main character felt. Felt more like an autobiography. lack of plot.
