About this listen

Women must earn their own keep in this small Western town. But his choice for a wife has grand expectations...

Sheriff Josh Ryder longs for someone to come home to every night. But the lawman’s recent notoriety attracts so many replies to his mail-order bride ad that he has no idea if it’s him or his name they’re after. But he can’t tear his eyes away from the photo of a stunning Georgia beauty.

Debutante Emily Middleton’s dreams lie in the rubble of her father’s bankruptcy. Now penniless, the young Atlanta socialite turns her attention to the West, hoping to secure a man who can live up to her standards. And when she flees her family to meet the rugged Montana lawdog, she’s certain her ambition will soon be back on track.

Though the sheriff’s immediately drawn to the feisty woman, he balks at her demands for a lifestyle beyond his means. And as Emily finds the handsome Josh simultaneously obstinate and dashing, she worries her fresh start could shortly turn sour.

Can the fiery couple fan their sparks into a sizzling sprint to the altar?

The Sheriff’s Stubborn Secretive Bride is the fourth audiobook in the compelling Montana Westward Brides historical Western romance series. If you like capable men, determined ladies, and the tough burdens of the Old West, then you’ll adore Amelia Rose’s tale of the imperfect match.

The sheriff's stubborn Bride

This is a good book. Emily is a spoiled girl growing up with everything handed to her. Josh is a hard working sheriff. Josh has to try and show Emily what the real world is like in the west. This book will keep you guessing what's going to happen. Gina Dobbs does a great job narraiting this book. If my review was any help will you please click the helpful link. Thank you

A Good Listen

The Sheriff's Stubborn Secretive Bride: Montana Westward Brides, Book 4 Audible Logo Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Amelia Rose

This is a western, mail order bride historical fiction. A formerly well to do woman expects to head off to marry a man that advertised for a mail order bride.
Emily goes west to Montana to marry the sheriff, Josh. She expects to be taken care of and doesn't plan to work or keep house. Things are not as she expects.
The listener will have to hang on to see if they will end up married or not. A fairly quick listen.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Gina Dobbs.

emily was a tough pill to swallow

I found Emily very superficial and shallow for most of the book. She came looking for a free ride and didn't expect to be more than a pretty empty vessel. She got mad and rash when Joshua confronted her with the truth. She did have some growth. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was good.
