About this listen

The Ha’kan, an all-female race that reveres sexuality and views monogamy as unnatural, have been at war with the Tavinter for centuries. Queen Halla seeks to end this long-term dispute with the nomadic forest people by extending a unique offer to the Tavinter Chieftain. She invites his daughter, Skye, to attend the most prestigious school in all of Arianthem: The Sjöfn Academy.

Skye accepts the invitation and sets out with determination and trepidation. She does not know what to expect, for the Queen’s own daughter, Dallan, is but a few years older than her and will serve as her mentor at the Academy. Skye has only to meet the laughing dark eyes of the princess once before she realizes she is going to get far more of an education than she ever dreamed possible.

Wow

Some how I was so excited after reading the summary I didn’t check to see if this was a series and haven’t listened to the first book. It was so amazing and great. I hope she continues this and a 3rd book is published soon on audible. I’m downloading the first book right now.

not sure how to feel about this one

This falls into that trope of miscomunication and with holding information leads into problems and sex is a cure all. So a ploy that makes Skye of the Tavinter leave the Sjöfn Academy and sparks a war between the Ha'kan and Tavinter peoples. The Ha'kan value consent above all else but when Dallan captures her fromer lover Skye (leader of the Tavinter) she has sex with her while she is bound in her camp which is full of Ha'kan troops and dosent ask for Skye's consent and Skye dosent know if she is a prisnor or slave. Then they figure out the plot and work together and "love"/sex forgives the fact that the Ha'kan have attacked and sold the Tavinter into slavery and the first act of Dallan during a war is to have sex with Skye with out her consent. It's one of those things that the author wants a happy ending despite what happened to the MC's people and I don't know how to feel about that

Fan effing tastic

This book is the best in the series. I have never wanted to live in another world as much as I want to live in this one.
This is where my love for Skye begins.
A good narrator knows the intent of the writer. Vivienne LaRue brings out the emotion, awkwardness, and sexual desire that Samantha Sabian has created and the result is spectacular.
Skye, the Ha'kan, the Sjöfn Academy, Lifa, Queen Halla, Raine, and Talan are all just perfect. Before this book, Raine was/is a favorite. Now I must add Skye, Lifa, and Queen Halla to that list.
Am I the only one who is seriously desiring the mind-blowing sexual encounter between Queen Halla and Skye?
I love this book!!!

Honest Opinion

I thought this sequel showed tremendous improvement compared tothe first book! The author's writing proved this through more detail on the characters; which allowed them to become better developed, than in the first novel. You can tell the author spent more time building on details to the world they developed in book one. So, you are able to grasp a better understanding of what is transpiring and it also gives small hints about what could possibly transpire in future novels. There are enough small story lines left untold to leave the reader wondering and wanting more. I will definitely read the next installment. This sequel even incorporated in how the book one; about Raine and Talon, came to be in this story line and how there is room for all the characters current or new to be read about in the third book. The narrator was excellent; which compelled me to give this book the overall rating it deserves.

Deliciously enjoyable!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. What a delicious concept! I couldn’t have dreamt it up better myself lol. If you’re a fan of fantasy adventure, different types of romance, and a bit of action then you’ll love this.
The narrator was great at bringing the story to life and this is just a fun, highly entertaining book. I haven’t read the first in the series but I don’t feel like I missed anything, there’s only a brief reference to the previous story. You can definitely enjoy this as a standalone.
