Good info but not for the faint of heart

Felt like I learned some things and but the overall tone was depressing and stressful. Basically as a stepparent you get a rough life was the message I took away...would have liked some more encouraging sections

Needed Perspective

The content was excellent! The narration was hard to listen to but the information helped compensate for the painful voice over

Preachy

This book started out great and I was really excited about it. Then suddenly I felt like I was sitting in church. A little tie in with religion or spirituality but this book was chapter after chapter of biblical information. Not what I expected.

Solid content throughout; performance only so-so

Lots of excellent information and insights. An important read for all step families, those considering step family life, and even those considering ending their marriage (to consider what is in store). This book is a solid start to the work necessary to making step family life fruitful.
The reading was only ok. Almost sounds like an AI voice at times. Would recommend re-recording the narration. Feel it could make it much more engaging.

Relax in the Slow-Cooker

Brute force is how I was trying to make relationships work after my divorce. This book came at just the right time to give hope, success, and the promise of a redeemed family. Consider the concepts, principles, and exercises in this book as the gateway to your future stepfamily.

Wonderful book

This book is a must read for step families. There is so much to take into account that it is overwhelming. However, if you do the work, you stand a good chance.
The narrator was painful to listen to. I sped it up a bunch to get through some of it. It did feel better in the latter half of the book though. I determined that it was because the content was so good and his consistent voice managed to get out of the way a bit.
I recommend having a physical or e- book for this as well for review, highlights, and discussion.

Eye opening for Christians in stepfamilies.

❤️ Love it! I want to re-listen to this several times. As an adult of a blended family, this helped me heal & understand my life. As the second wife and stepmother of pre-teen age girls, this hit my heart. All of my struggles were laid out as normal.
