There's more going on in The Street than its inhabitants realize....

In the course of this delightful, quirky and perceptive audiobook, an elderly soldier with incipient Alzheimer's saves the life of a remarkable child, a resting actor finds real purpose, a woman starved of love discovers it in an unexpected place and a beloved cat achieves immortality.

A book in which little happens but is still worth reading

A small street, with its few houses and the plain lives of their inhabitants. A snapshot in time. Nothing much to read if you are looking for a plot. Plenty to uncover if you are interested in humans in their usual conditions. In the editing of the audiobook I rly didn't like that they have auto-removed the sound of the narrator taking a breath. 1-it makes it sound ennervingly unnatural and 2-the tool is not perfect so in many places the beginning of the words after inhale are trunkated to. The overall quality of the aufioproduction is disappointing.
