Publisher's summary

To save Telos, I must embrace my destiny.

It's not every day you find out you're the illegitimate son of a deity, but I'm making the best of it.

The Vrag have been backed into a corner. Three kingdoms stand behind me, each led by one of my beautiful companions.

My goals are simple: Regain the throne, restore the Sun God, and drive the Vrag into the sea.

Easy enough, right?

Not quite. See, the Vrag didn't come to Telos of their own volition. They were driven here. What's powerful enough to scare a race of apex predators across an ocean?

I'm about to find out.

This novel contains unconventional relationships.

That appears to be a wrap

Right up front before you read any further just know that I recommend this book to anybody thinking about giving it a shot. A little context for my review. I tend to take it easy on the first and last book of any series as not every series makes it to “The End” and the first of anything can be a shaky endeavor. I also try to make clear the distinction between the quality of the writing/performance of the author/narrator and my personal tastes should they differ. As this appears to be the final book in the series, I am going to refrain from risking spoiling anything. As this is book 4 anybody reading this review either has not bought into the series yet or has been following along and knows what to expect from the storyteller and the narrators performing the story. As such I'm going to go ahead and leave my reviews from the first three books below. Lastly, if you are now at the end of the story and are looking for some more from this author then I would like to recommend “The Fire Mage Chronicles” which I have enjoyed and it is a completed trilogy with all audio already available.

Book 3 Review

I really have enjoyed the story thus far. I think the narration team has done a fantastic job. As of the time of this review the 4th book is already out in eBook form titled The Sun Throne. If you can't wait for the audio treatment, but still want someone to read it to you then I suggest checking out Alexa. Full disclosure every once in a while, she goes British or mess us up a word but for the most part it's a relatively easy fix for somebody wanting more of the story but may not have the time outside of the tedium of particular parts of a day to enjoy a story for entertainment. Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this book to us the audible listeners.

Book 2 Review

I was looking for something that I could enjoy while I was dealing with finals week. I chose this audiobook as it appeared to me to be lighthearted and fun. Unfortunately, I then forgot that I had it during the following chaos. That being said if you're reading this review and you haven't bought into the series yet I'll give you a “heads up” as to what you need to know about the series thus far. We've got a veteran who's gone back to school on the GI bill when he gets summoned to a fantasy world. There are three Kick-Ass ladies two of whom are princesses. We've got evil men who have defile the temple that has caused a sharp decline in the masculine population of their enemies who have summoned our hero to help them. There is also a smart-ass demon locked in a tooth that aids our hero on his journeys. The second book this one is a continuation of that journey and is everything that made the first one good and then some. I always make sure to mention the narrators, after all this is an audiobook. I think they did a fantastic job. I will warn you all that what they sound like in the sample it is more or less how they sound like throughout the entirety of the book. That is, in my opinion, they tend to play the characters “over the top” which for some might become annoying. I'm one of the ones that listens to audiobooks at twice the speed, and it was fine for me, but you may want to adjust the speed and see how that affects your opinion of the storytelling. I got into the habit of it for some other audiobook a long time ago where the narrator for whatever reason would take long pauses. That's not the case here and I do recommend the series. I'm quite interested in finding out what happens next.

Book 1 Review

Alright here I am at the end of the book. We have a MC going to school on the GI bill which means he is a veteran. He gets served with divorce papers just before being fully summoned to this other magical world. Of course, you have the great evil which may not be exactly what you think it is. Also, cannot go wrong with adding a Princess to the story. Lastly our MC realizes that he was going through life by the numbers and now in this new world has a chance to really live. I had my eye on this book from when it was first released as an eBook. I have read some of this author's work in the past when he was still pretty new. I am glad to say that he has come a long way in a relatively brief period of time. I enjoyed the story a lot and I am interested in digging into book 2. As of the time of this review, book two and book three are available in eBook form. You can pick them up for five bucks or if you have kindle unlimited you can go that route. Lastly, I cannot end this review without mentioning the amazing job the narration team did. I am familiar with the company that they work for and as far as I am aware, they are a relatively new team. However, you would not know it from their performance. Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this book to us, the Audible listeners. Keep up the excellent work and I eagerly await book 2 in audio format.

Wonderful

This series is great.
Our MC is now the emperor of 3 kingdoms but almost nobody knows it. He still wants to irradicate the Vrag and keep killing.
And he's got 3 princesses to satisfy among others.
Sex, battle and LitRPG. Better than sex, drugs and rock & roll.
If you like harem LitRPG, you are going to like this series.

Great series that's been under the radar!

I love Roland and have enjoyed all of his books. This one doesn't break that streak. It is amazing and the narrators knock this performance out of the park. Get it.
