Must read

I absolutely loved this book. It is now one of my favorites. I would recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy a story that you don't want to put down.

Wonderful Story

I first read this years ago when it was first published and loved it. With the release of the third book in the series, I decided to listen to The Swan House on Audible. My husband is not much of a reader, but he will listen to audio books with me in the car. My husband and I both enjoyed "reading" it. The audio book was well done, and the story is engaging. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely LOVED this book!

Wow! First of all, I have heard Linda Stephens read several books, but with this one she really knocked it out of the park! I loved the story, the Christian message, just everything about it!

Great story!

I really enjoyed this story! I laughed a bit and even cried ... something I don't do often when reading, but this story has some very heartfelt moments! I loved both the coming to Jesus as well as the coming of age themes! Coincidentally, my nickname is also swan!

Heartwarming

This is one of the finest novels that I have listened to in a very long time.

The story is rich with characters with deep feelings and the focus on growing spiritually is very well done.

I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Waste of a good plot!

What did you like best about The Swan House? What did you like least?

What started out as a great story took a hard turn about a third of the way in. From there it became a platform for evangelical Christian doctrine. Then the author tossed in large doses of guilt, aimed at the white community for leaving the city of Atlanta during the early '60's. I found myself rolling my eyes! The story wobbles back on track, and after the author makes her agendas more than abundantly clear, she FINALLY wraps it up. Ugh! What could have been a great book turned into a transparently predictable diatribe filled with cliches and trite writing! I was over the name Mary Swann, too! It must have been used 1000 times!

Which character – as performed by Linda Stephens – was your favorite?

Trixie

Faith and History

This book has so many layers. All of them excellent. Faith, Family, Friendship, and History. I don't re-listen to books, but I can see this book being an exception to the rule. Linda Stephens may be my new favorite narrator.

Loved this book! Great story, powerful message of hope amongst the trials of life. PS the audible narrator was the best I have ever experienced...

character of Sean changed from a spoiled self

self centered girl to a kind and loving individual through the medimorohis of Jesus Christ. At first I wanted to shake her, for her insensitive behavior and in the end embrase her. She was a very real character to me. Great Book
