The structure of this epistolary novel lends itself well to different narrators. I tried listening to a version by the venerable Mary Sarah, but despite her beautiful voice, I found dialogue and changes in first person confusing (not seeing the written version). Looking for alternate versions, I overcame my bias against “community theater” style productions, which are often low quality. The sample on Audible persuaded me to give this version a try. I’m glad I did. The audio production quality is premium. The narrators were professionals in a professional studio. As a result, I was not distracted by quality issues and was able to enjoy this classic. Well done!
