A Christy Award winner, New York Times best-selling author Beverly Lewis has garnered acclaim as the queen of Amish fiction. The Thorn begins her Rose Trilogy, the stirring saga of two Amish sisters on the fringes of the church—and the unforeseen discoveries that change their lives.

What other book might you compare The Thorn to and why?

I love Beverly Lewis books. They are all comparable.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Hen's little girl did not chose to go with her daddy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes indeed. I can hardley ever turn her books off in the middle.

No real ending

Didn't really have an ending...for Nick, or for the explanation of what happened to Christian, etc.

Good listen!

Good clean Amish story in the typical Beverly Lewis tradition, with a good plot. I enjoyed the narrator too. She's pleasant to listen to. I enjoyed this book!

Great Amish Story

The story and narrator were great. This is not a fast paced novel as it is about Amish life, so if that is what you are looking for then move on. The story has great characters and character development and is just a great, clean, story that grabbed me enough that I will be listening to the next one in the series.

Many storylines left unsettled...

Love Beverly Lewis stories!.
I now will look for a successor to this story to find out more about the characters not finished...

Still good

I read this book and the second one years ago. I wasn’t a huge fan of the voice actor at first but her voice grew on me and she made enough effort to change her voice for other characters.
The one character I hate the most though is Hens husband. I know how things end up but it still bothers me he is so selfish and manipulative…he was willing to hurt his own child’s feelings to get his way…to me that’s just messed up. I understand it’s realistic because it’s been done to me as a child and I know everyone has a bad side when emotionally stressed but that puppy part threw me into a rage.
